Hey all! Let me introduce myself--Hornet's the name. I've been a long-time jazzer and JCSster, but am just now getting into the online thing again (it's been quite a while). I think the last I played online was about the time JJ2 went retail. Since then, I've just tinkered around with the game off and on. Did a lot with JCS, too, but haven't released any of my levels yet. Don't know why--I guess I just never got around to it.
So, all in all, I may be an experienced JJ2 player, but on the whole online thing, I've pretty much reverted to newbie status. Treat me appropriately (but be nice now! ![]() Anyone here still play JJ2 online, regularly? I'm going to break out all the levels I've been working on these last few years, and try to get the best ones released. None of them have been through formal online testing, so if you happen to see my server running, drop by and check 'em out. Later! |

I'm not surprised, Overlord & KILLERRABBIT. Even with the online play I did, I never met up with a whole lot of people. It had to do with the time I had available to play Jazz. I was typically on when a lot of others weren't. As such, you'll notice I'm not claiming to be a legend of the day or anything of the sort. So now, I'm pretty much starting fresh. Nice to meet you all--I'm ready to play some Jazz again! And yes, hehe, I now know I'm on the wrong board.

Hey, welcome back.

Something just hit me... when I said I was a "long-time jazzer ", did I unwittingly use a term reserved for only the best Jazz players? If so, nah, there's no way I'm that good--or at least, I'm unproven. That'll be for you all to decide. All I meant was that I was a serious Jazz player.

A few points :
A) This is the correct forum. B) The term Jazzer just means someone who plays Jazz, so it is fine how you used it C) Welcome back, we appreciate it when people come back D) No need to be all nervous, just relax. Make yourself at home here on the JCF. Get acquianted with everyone. Post and have fun, that's what the JCF is about! And be sure to release your levels on J2O. BTW, does anyone want to get him up to date?

[Looks back through the thread starting with Another Jazz 2 fan's post]
![]() ![]() AHEM, we'll talk later... ANYway, it's all good--I feel welcome at least, that's for sure. Tell me, though, what's happened to Jazz? The last big event I remember hearing about was the closing of Jazz2City, which was just a little after the time I left. Now I return to find everyone talking about list server patches and JJ3 demos and now this new DoS / DDL thing. What's IS all this??? I'm going to see what I can find out from the board's search engine, but I don't think it'll help much for the short strings like DDL. VERY ![]() |

Ok HERe IS MY UPTO DATE REVIEW
1) DDL Is an evil hacking group which has hacked many things including j20, the members of ddl are mean and evil and they are forming a plot to crash our listservers. 2)There are rumors, since JazzGBA came out, that jj3 may be made in the future. They are basically cries and pleas for jj3 to come out. 3) You'll have to get used to the slang words here, which some of them are based around numbers, J00 g3t th4t? 4) THERE IS NO 4!?!?!?!@#$%#%#$% TREASON! 5) Just try and "fit" in, you're welcome to make as many friends as you want, there us no maximum. ![]() Well, ive taught you many sensei, but you must be wise and quick like the mighty grasshopper, and go pester someone else. ![]()

The JJ3(D) demo you speak of was made a little while ago by World Tree Games. It used the UT engine and looked quite nice. Excellent textures, models, etc. World Tree, once the game had reached pre-alpha stages, took the game to Epic, where it was recieved very well. But since epic is a developer, they needed a publisher, and at the time, they were with G.O.D. (Gathering of Developers), which had lost money on JJ2. Having done that made them reluctant to fork up any for JJ3, which they didn't--and the game died. That alpha still exists and has been circulating around the JJ community (as illegal as that may be, it's the truth).
It has : No netplay *cries* Several singleplayer "areas" including a forest-type-place, some mountiany-stuff, a town, a lake, and a castle, where the only boss is. There are some bugs in the game that make it difficult to get to the boss. It is, however, beatable. Though I forget what happens when you do. Jazz doesn't have any of his special moves but he does have a "burst of speed" type thing where you can push forward twice in quick succession and get just that. (: Guns "recharge" instead of having ammo amounts. So--the blaster recharges fast enough for you to fire continuously without problem, but the bouncer, say, recharges slowly so that you have to change weapons or stop firing. Yeah...that's not all, by a long shot. See the JJ3 FAQ here : http://www.jazz2online.com/~j3f/ I've unintentionally mirrored much of its content here, but they've got more that is good.

Moonblaze--Nah, the joke's on me, the way this played out. Kinda funny now that I look back through it.
![]() Blackout TRC--Yes, but I haven't online yet. I may be behind on a lot of things (I'm up to the part of Laser Shield Crashes and updated JCS.ini files--a big "thank you" to all that've helped so far!) but TSF I was fortunate to hear about AND get a hold of just recently. So, this sounds like the perfect time to ask: what's played more by the people on this board, 1.23 or TSF? I've been seeing a good mix on the listservers recently. |
