I'd like to host a game on my webserver, Solar Empire, but I have a problem.
It's in PHP and PERL and I don't know a lick about those programming languages. I don't know how to write them, I don't know how to use them, but I do know people that do. PLEASE HELP!!!

It might also help if you said what you were trying to host. "A game" is rather indescriptive.

You can't just ask for "help". PHP\Perl people would be glad to help (including me), but you need to tell us how we can help. If you have specific questions, ask them, or if you're having problems, describe them.
If you're just looking for a PHP or Perl primer, there are thousands of tutorials and references out there (http://www.google.com). And most likely the software package you want to install has detailed instructions which even a non-programmer can follow easily. I would recommend just trying to install it by following the instructions, and then ask here or on a more relevant message board if you run into problems.

hate to sound snoody, but if I say that if I want to "Host" a game on a server, it usually means loading and making it work somehow. There is a tutorial, but that just tells me how to create a server on my own computer, not on a webserver.
![]() Do I need to make this work on my computer and then onto the webserver I upload it or can I just upload it and make it work from there?

The 150m link wasn't working for me, but if it's a free server, it more than likely won't support PHP anyway.
Many of us know PHP and PERL, but that does no good if we don't know how to configure the webserver. I suggest emailing the makers of the game and requesting information about creating a webserver. Other than that, I don't know that you're going to get any help here. Sorry. ![]() -Onag |

tripod.lycos.nl, it's in dutch though, but it gives you 50 mb/php/mysql if you can get someone to help you translate.

But If change my login password, and let you see what I have to work with, would you do it?

Isn't there a manual to go along with it?
And if there isn't, isn't the only thing you need to do upload it?

It does, but it's part of the entire package. Click on the words "Solar Empire" in the first post or click the link below.
