Problems with DSL Ethernet modem

Since I got DSL, via an Ethernet modem, I can't host JJ2 servers anymore (they are pinging) and I automatically time-out after a minute or so when joining one. Since I never had this problem until I got DSL, I think it's coused by the modem. I tried to find some place where I could set port-forwarding, but it isn't there.

I have an Alcatel Speedtouch ADSL 500 series modem, connected to a Sitecom network card. I'm using Windows XP home edition. In the modem setup, there's no place I can set port forwarding. Anyone know the solution?

I've got a DSL router and the same problem occurs...

And yes, I have forewarded ports 10050 to 10060 and I've deactivated my firewall so that shouldn't be the problem.

If you read my post, you may have noticed that I'm not using a router, but a modem, and that there's no place to set port forwarding.

Can you contact your ISP about it? They are always really helpful towards people who don't have routers.

But before you do that, make sure there is no firewall on your computer. Windows XP includes a built-in firewall that is on by default (I think) in Home Edition.

Go into Control Panel and go to Network Connections. Double click on your network adaptor (a box should come up), and then click Properties. Go to the Advanced tab. Now there should be a checkbox about a firewall. If it is checked, uncheck it (for now).

If it was not checked in the first place, and you're sure that you have no other firewalls running, contact your ISP and ask them about the problem. If it was checked, and now JJ2 works, you can turn it back on and go into the Settings button where you can specify individual ports to allow through.

The problem Fl@$h (and Goldy) described is completely different than the problem you two (Evaluator and Blackraptor) are having. Because his modem is connected right to his computer, and he doesn't have a router.

Post your own help topic or reply to one that is about routers if you want help.

I don't think that the problem is that different. If I redirect all ports from my router to my pc, it behaves like a DSL modem basically...

Unless the router isn't working properly.

To determine whether it is a modem problem or a router problem, connect the modem directly to your computer.

In the flyer it said that the modem I (an flash) are using, is kind of like a router, since I also have isdn. I dunno if Flash has that too tho.

Desperate as I was, I called the ADSLmodem-helpdesk. (0900-8085 (Fer Fl@sh)) An spend almost half an hour hanging on the phone, talking to Robert, he was actually not supposed to help me but he said he had had the same problem so he was willingly to help me =), now I did everything he said, an as far as I know I opened ports 10052 and 10054 on TCP and UDP, inbound and outbound. But still, no results .
I made a screenshot, I hope someone around here will see what I've done wrong cuz I'm losing hope here!

You also need to open 10053 (you need the full range, 10052-10054, both TCP and UDP).

This topic\problem has been around for a long time and so far nobody has had success.

Maybe this is something to ask your ISP, because I don't know what else you can do

Tell them you need access on ports 10052-10054 for a game, and it isn't working right now.

Hosting started to work for me last night and this is what i did btw i use XP . Go into control panel then internet options then goto advanced then go down the list to security. After you have done that there should be or was for me something that is TLS 1.0 i just ticked that and my Jazz internet hosting worked. Lets hope it does for some other Jazzers out there
