Unhappy Jazz1 Windows XP sound problems

I got JJ1 to work fine on windows XP its just that the sound is stuffed. No matter what sound car I choose it ends up with the same stuffed sound. I'm using a soundblaster soundcard (not sure shich one I'll try to track down the box). TP patch and moslo don't help either. What do I do?

Download VDMS. Install it. Right click on your jj1 setup click on run with VDMS, configure it for soundblaster pro highest quality, then right click on jj1 and run with VDMS..and...sound.

Could someone post a link? I've been soundless on JJ1 too.

I get studdering sounds in DOS under Windows XP. DOS sounds works fine under Win98 (and 2000 with VDMS).

I get studdering sounds either using Audio Legacy Device or VDMS in Windows XP. Even the second computer in the living room get that problem, too. Maybe it's the Yahama sound card both computers are running...

Nevermind what I said about my Yamaha cards. It's *certain* games that produces studdery sounds, mostly Apogee/3D Realm games. The way they initialize sounds in DOS under Windows is different compared to Doom, or Jazz1, or Prince of Persia games.
