Making s3m's...
Is there some kind of .mid to .s3m converter, or a .wav to .s3m converted, or whatever? Just wondering how people get any songs in that format, because I've never seen something that could even record s3m's.

Actually, Modplug Tracker makes .its. Same diff though.

Modplug tracker should work for conversion . . stripe and Bluez told me about this a while ago when I had needed to convert some files as opposed to not being able to find a jazz-compatible equivalent. It worked quite nicely but I forgot the process of doing it.

ModPlug Tracker should suffice. You can track your songs there, import some midi-files and save them as MOD, S3M, XM or IT files.
For best compatibility with JJ2 it's adviced to use the S3M format. Once you've got yourself a copy of ModPlug Tracker find yourself a midi-sample library. Most Windoze computers come preinstalled with one or you may find one in some DirectX-distribution (*.DLS). You don't NEED a library, you can choose individual samples but a library makes converting midi-files a whole lot easier. ![]() As you don't seem to know what tracking actually is, it is adviced to read some documents over at United Trackers, where you'll also be able to find some links to samples. Especially useful to read is the Tracker's Handbook, which will guide you on your first steps into the tracking-scene. That's about it. If you've got any more questions: RTFM ![]()

*.it - FastTracker.
*.s3m - ScreamTracker. *.xm - Gad... I should know this... *.mod - Basically, every other tracker.

ModPlug tracker has its pros and cons. For one thing, the interface is relatively simple and easy to use. It's Win-based which is both a pro and a BIG con
![]() Big cons are its bloatedness, with VST and mixing options. And it's uncanny feature to be non-standard compliant, as in: you can do stuff in MODs/S3Ms which you shouldn't be able to. If I could I'd write a better tracker myself, but I'm no coder. ![]()
