I know this is a common question, but I do not call a poll posing it in quite this form before, so I thought it would be an interesting question to ask.

What, exactly, do you think is the fate of Jazz?

Personally, I think there is a low chance but still a chance that anymore games will come out. I also think that the game will still be played for at least two and a half more years.

Sorry, by the way, for so many options, but I wanted to cover all bases.

I think the odds are 50:50 that JJ3 will come out, it would be lower but Trafton is hoaxing it so it has to be true... unless it's not. You really didn't give a choice for maybe, everything was yes, probably not or no (or who cares/no comment.)

BTW, this belongs in The Future of Jazz.

Where's the "Jazz 1 is the future" option?

On mIRC, CliffyB said himself that there is no Jazz project in the making, but maybe he went there and said that to trick us and let us be surprised. Why do all these gaming companies have to be so myserious!?!?!?!?!?

This is what I think, indeed Jazz3 has a possibility of coming out. But most likely it won't, and Jazz2 is not dead yet.

Just so long as JJ3 doesn't take a DNF turn (as in the release date being "When it's done" for six years and counting) if it's actually in development in some dark basement.

Epic is desperate... Unreal is costing them big bucks now because Unreal 2 is flopping... So they come crawling back to us to beg us to support them on their old mission of creating a jazz3 game. It will be made... that much is for sure... but Epic may go out of business because of poor money decisions (such as only concentrating on ONE game and rejecting everything else).

As long as it isn't as bad as Daikatana.

Anyway, there is sort of an option. You can choose Other and then state in this thread "JJ3 will come out and it will suck."

Jazz3 will not come out.

As long as people keep making levels and other keep playing them, Jazz is alive and kicking. I for one intend to keep making stuff as long as there's people wanting to play it.

Jazz3? Well, Cliffy may suprise us... and then he may not. We'll just see what happens, I guess.

Are you kidding? All the many companies licensing the Unreal Engine have to pay Epic hundreds-of-thousands of dollars. They're getting rich off the engine alone. And although Unreal 2 and UT2K3 aren't the humongous sucesses they were hoping, they still earned quite a bit.

I'm putting my money on....option 2.

Look, with the new serverlist errors and the fact that the game is rarely seen in stores, I'm pretty sure there won't be much new players, so the game is dead.

And Jazz 3 is hopeless.

Not exactly Xion. But CTF appears more popular. Than battle ever was. Gah, CTF is crap though. It's boring, I would only get good at it, so I can increase my Battle skills.

OMF:BG hasn't come out yet and pobably won't, because it has ben in DEV for at least 4 years, and only uber-sucsseful game's can have their 2nd installment be in DEV for too long like Half-Life.

OMF:BG will be definantly under-whelming becuase it will be far behind the curve by the time it comes out. Thats the risk of taking to long, as it was started in 2000 it will be like a game made in 2000. Sry to be so negative.

But Epic forgot about one thing when they shifted away from all things jazzy. They left a strong community with many great members, many of them programers, level makers, tileset makers, story writers, speech writers, and even the life and blood of jj2, the fans. That and the fact that their attitude towards jj2 gives it a lot of attention. We get our time in the spotlite on many sites, sometimes in praise, sometimes as a joke, but either way, it gets the message out that jazz is still alive and we need some help. Companies seeing this may see an opprotunity, a great game could be made if only they tried a little. Seeing the true sucsess that jazz 2 turned out to be, seeing a handful of players conquer all, it shows that even a simple game thats well past it's prime can prove to be a serious game that, with the proper advertising, can make a bunch of money. That is what game makers want.

There is roasting too. Which makes it similar to battle except that it comes with the grabbing of flags and running like you said. Which makes it more than battle (I'm not saying more fun, that's for you to decide. But listening to you, i think you played some weird CTF games if there was no roasting involved)

strange, I can get out of a six-on-one situation without a scratch, and I'm not even an uber player.

And I don't like CTF because I like to kill. If I cannot kill everything in sight I don't like it!

UT99 CTF is almost the same, except for one thing: It is in 3D. You can point your gun anywhere, you can go anywhere...JJ2 is too limiting.

I'm sick to death of Jazz.

Maybe if they made a new game that was serious, yet true to the universe - an RPG. That would be cool. But not another shooter, no thanks.

even my brother of 21 still plays Jazz1 and 2 and i never stopped playing it! I think that we should not say that Jazz3 isnt comming out it may take some time but i think it comes out one day!
