How do people make utilities for Jazz 2 (Such as Controllers and Respawn,) without the source code?

These programs edit memory of the program which causes changes in the program itself. By using other programs to read the memory it is possible to isolate certain memory locations that store values that can be changed.

So to make something, you just have to change something, then look at all the values to see what's changed?

I was about to post, but he just about summed it up.
http://link.idlegames.com/j2hg/ It's a site dedicated to Hacking Jazz. Most programs are off limits to non members, for they can be considered cheating. `N0
