Figure out how to open/forward ports 10052-10054 to the computer you play JJ2 on.

Is it Linksys? Follow my instructions. Other? It probably has similar steps, just look for forwarding.

There have been many other posts about this! Use the search feature! But I'll give you a summary anyways:

1. Go to http://192.168.1.1 in your web browser.
2. Type in the admin password that your router is set up with.
3. At the top, choose "Advanced".
4. At the top, go to "Forwarding".
5. On one empty line, enter in ports 10052 to 10054 to forward to the IP address of the computer you play JJ2 on.
6. Click the "Apply" button at the bottom.

Easy! If you need more help search for "port", "firewall", and "router" using the JCF search.

That image is from firmware version 1.36; if you have later (I recently updated mine to the latest), select "Both" in the TCP\UDP\BOTH box.

BTW, that image is hosted on my computer so you can only see it during the day.

Any software that works on every router?

Most routers DO NOT have "software." Going to http://192.168.1.1 in your web browser SHOULD take you to your router configuration screen, unless your network is configured differently. If http://192.168.1.1 does NOT take you to the configuration screen, ask the person who set up the router what its address is.

Now once you are there, look for "forwarding" somewhere. It may be under a submenu or something. Once you are there, figure out your computer's IP with winipcfg, and configure the router to forward ports 10052-10054 to the IP you found with winipcfg. If it has a TCP\UDP\BOTH selection, make sure you choose BOTH; if not don't worry about it.

I can't really help much more than that; if you can't figure this out yourself (with the help of my instructions), get the person who set up the router and the network to help you. They will know what to do. You should also try reading the manual (that is the first thing I always do before asking for help).
