Need some help with my tileset colouring
Hey I am making a goldrush tileset, it's these gold mines, the vines are these yellow ropes and the groud is brown. There is going to be pieces of gold and ores in the mine but with their colour it will look as if the ropes (vines, hooks) are made of gold too. If I make the ropes using whites they look metalic, if I use yellow it looks like the gold and if I use brown then they are the colour of the ground... what should I do?

You could have the vines be chains. Chains always look good.

The vines could be a very light brown, which would make it use the same rgadient as the brown ground, making colour reduction more efficient (if you're making it that way) or just plainly using up less colours because you can use the same gradient for both.
A chain is also a good idea btw, use what you can draw better.

Rope-coloured - beige. This pretty much light brown, so as Disguise said you could continue your brown gradient with lighter tones. Always listen to Disguise.
Anyhoo, I'm just posting to jump on the beta-test bandwagon... ![]() |

When I was working on a tileset like that a long time ago (a goldmine tileset, never finished it) I just made the rope a little bit lighter than the ground. If you want a pic I've got it uploaded.
