As the subject implies, Possum World is closing down.

It will remain online for a while yet, but there will no longer be any updates. You may point out that there were hardly any updates anyway, and you may feel free to do so. Very little has happened in the community of late, and we do not need three sites that point this out.

Note that I say "community". But what community is there to speak of? Most of the people who post here lose interest, as I have done. They cannot be blamed, as there are very few announcements from the Possum Team. Indeed, many of the team members no longer even post here, and I do not doubt that some do not even have an account.

I am not claiming that Possum is dead. We know far too little about it to be able to make such a statement. I merely claim that Possum is dead to the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 community. And it was supposed to be this community's game.

I would very much like to be contradicted. Indeed, I hope this will prompt the team (whatever there is of it) to give us more information. And if they do, I am sure it will appear on Electric IR's excellent site. But Possum World descends to the ranks of the dead sites that litter the internet. Maybe only the release of the game will bring it back.

I don't think we have had much news about Possum lately. But really, what if nothing important has happened lately? Do we really need to know "oh I added a little code here and there, and something wasn't working so I fixed it... overall, at the beginning of the day we were 15% done with that, and now we're 15.13% done with that"? Maybe we should save the websites until Possum is done.

Right now, I'm thinking about making Possum Universe kind of like a J2O for Possum. However nothing visible is happening, because I'm still deciding what language to use

PHP is my best choice, simply because I have an example.

But maybe I won't.

I am sad to see this site close down so fast. But people, don't worry. You still have my site with tons of screenshots, information and things. In case you forgot or didn't know, my website is located here..

I hope you continue your site when the game is released. At least you are not leaving the JJ2 community.

I still have interest in Possum anyway. If it comes out here I'll buy it anyway. I just don't post here often because there is nothing to post out yet. Since we rushed Gizmos Internet account for Possum pictures nothing happened, so... :P

This topic wasn't posted on April 1st was it? Last year they said Possum was dead. Just makin' sure.

I also still am very intrested. But it's pretty hard to keep intrested if you haven't seen any updates in half a year.

If Possum dies, we could always start bugging some company to make something for us.

Well, though this topic was partly to declare the halt of Possum World, it was also an attempt to drive the team to post.
Sadly, it failed. Since I last posted, I have discovered that Dino is the only one who has actually visited the forum this year.
However, all is not lost. I will probably re-open the site if and when the game is released.

We should, of course, take over the world. With pineapples, if necessary.
