Unhappy Jazz2 Full screen

My jazz 2 will only work in full screen if I am set to exactly 256 colours!
I can only set my fullscreen size to 640x480 dirext draw!
Is this because Directx doesn't recognise my videocard's driver (not certified)?
how do I fix this?

Is 256 colours a Jazz 2 setting or a Windows setting?

Is this during the intro or afterwards? And do you change it with the in-game menu or with the drop-down menu?

What model video card do you have?
How much memory?
What colour depths are supported?
What additional features does it have?
What version of windows are you using?

It is after the into with the drop down menu. My card is an stb horizon 64 with stb vision 95. All colour settings up to true color, even 16 color!
The highest res is 1024x726, high color(16 bit). Good card, driver just not supported by $#%#$%#^ directx!
