Arrow Wanted:Helpful person knowing PSP

Who can help me wif palettes for my two tilesets?
Anyone interested?
Who helps me with it will get a BIG,FAT credit and if possible, other rewards(being inserted in tileset, drawn a pic of...)!
One of the palettes I need is very simple, the other one needs a lot of constructing, for it's going to be a custom-colors tileset.
Who wants to help?

Man am I glad I bumped that topic, just check my posts. For making palettes you wont really need Paint Shop pro a lot, but what you WILL need is Palsuite. GET IT!!!
When you've made a palette with it just select your image in PSP and go to 'Colors-->Load Palette' and load the palette you made. Easy as that.

How many colours can a palette have?

Jazz 2 tilesets do use 256 colours.

I've known it to say it can't remap all the colours, in which case there are two solutions:
1. Make sure there are only about 160 different coulours in your palette. You can check this using Palette Suite's "Edit->Count Colours".
2. Uncheck the "Remap tileset palette" box. Only do this if your palette has the JJ2 colours, and in the right positions.

Unhappy FISH-GUYS!WISE TEA!WHATEVA!

The god-da..rn PSP doesn't take the palette I made!!!
(It just consisted of 16 colours and the rest was black, but that's no reason!)
It says:
This is not a valid palette file.

If you did make it in Palette Suite, you have to make sure to save it as an MS Palette or a JASC palette (JASC reccomended). None of the other formats will work with PSP.

Ok, i'm here, time to help again
Toxic Bunny pretty much explained why your palette didn't work, so i'll answer the other questions

And you were right about it not being 256, it is actually 160 WITHOUT the Jazz 2 colours, and if you're gonna make a textured background with your tileset (which will take up an extra 32 colours) the amount of colours is reduced to 128! That's half the amount of colours you started with. But okay, enough of that, time to give you guys some toys and info to play with.

First of all, whenever you make a palette for JJ2 it _MUST_ include the default jazz2 palette inside it. You're welcome to edit these colours a bit, but if their entries are wrong you'll end up having some serious problems. You can find the palette here:
http://users.surfanytime.co.uk/disguise/jazz2.pal
This is your basic palette. Whenever you want to add colours, add them in palette entries 96-255 (this will total 160 colours).

If you're including a textured background, add those 32 colours in palette entries 176-207. I also made a nifty lil image that'll explain a bit about making textured abckgrounds and all the precautions you gotta take:

ENJOY!!!
