Some days ago I got an advertisement thing of a Dutch toy shop called "Intertoys". In the advertisement was a picture of a Jazz Jackrabbit 2 game (€ 4,95). The picture of a DVD box with the pJazz+Spaz picture with a purple background was on it. I went to the shop, and it was actually there. The Project 2 logo was on it and on the backside there were 3 screenshots and a description in Dutch, French and German. Not in English.
Since games in DVD boxes are usually around 2 years old, I found it kinda weird, because I thought P2 went bankrupt before 2 years ago ![]() Anyone know more about this? |

Could this be a joke? Maybe it's real.
YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT!!!! Even if it was a joke, you could take it back. If the title was in another language could you have gotten someone to translate it for you. I want another JJ. ![]() ![]()

Oh cool! They rereleased it. So it wasn't a joke... but it wasn't a different one. Oh well, maybe more people will join it and then there will be more servers up.

The letters are still green, instead of the new yellow! Hmmm...

I wish they had included the 1.23 patch and list server patch in the package. They should at least have gone to some effort to assure it worked right out of the box.

Got a copy right here. It's version 1.20
![]() No patches for miles around and the only URL on the package is... *shiver* www.jazzjackrabbit.com... No manual, no notes, no patches, nothing. Still for 4,95 EURO it is bound to bring in some new folk. Strange thing is that it's a complete new reprint. The CD is new with a new label and the design of the DVD sleeve has also changed. So at least someone made some effort.

I also have something with a similiar box, it is TSF though. Interesting anyways, I will look for it in German shops.

Guys, to those wondering about the whole DVD thing: Its just in a DVD shaped box. Its smaller than the big chunky PC boxes, even though boxes are beginning to shrink to smaller sizes for good reasons. Other PC games have done this too. I just wish the US got something like this. Too bad the manual isnt in it. Since the game itself doesnt even describe the story =P

Meh, I dislike DVD boxes. They always mean no printed manual, no added material, nothing to give the $45US you spent on the game seem worth it... Plus, they tend to either never close properly after being opened once, or have a spindle which almost requires you to snap the CD in half before you get it out; even got a couple that came with the spindle broken. Wonky. I want the old trophy boxes&jewelcase CDs back darnit...

Oh, cool, another collectors item. And a reason to drive to Holland some saturday soon enough :)
AJ2f: the letters are prolly green because that cover in the picture scanned by Flash is the original JJ2 box cover of the Euro release by Project 2 (and yes, the US release by Godgames, which was, by the way, released some time *after* the P2 Euro release, had yellow letters and one of the patches, too). And by the way, the polish release of TSF by LK Avalon also comes in a DVD box (it also costs around 5 EUR, btw, and is still available in my private stock and in german stores). P.S.: Haze, can you make some photos or scan the cover of that new release? |

![]() As for the rest of the people out there who are still looking for a copy of JJ2 or CC listen up: There are some copies of this JJ2 version in a local store PLUS some CD only versions of CC. If you're interested I'm willing to buy some copies for you and send them over by mail. It's probably going to cost you (calculates: game + envelope + postage) around 10 EURO per game. As usual only cash, bank- or money transfers are possible. Mail me if you're interested. First come, first served. ![]()

I object to the idea. If Jazz 2 and JJGBA don't sell well, then there is absolutely no chance in the world Jazz 3 will come out. By giving out Warez, you are indirectly killing any small remaining chance of Jazz 3 coming out.

Couldn't find it
I've searched everywhere but I couldn't find it.
Perhaps I have to take a look in the Intertoys. Grrr The GBA Jazz was also nowhere to be found.

Like the finger-trap. You're safe if you aren't half thick. To be fair, though, I do have a case designed by someone who didn't seem to realise this, and it is impossible to get the CD out without bending it. And to quote the case in question "Flexbox - pat. pend."

Why do they call CD cases "jewel boxes" anyway?

It's not in English? What do they think of us? A couple of gung-ho 1st person shoot'em up maniacs? It would be great to see JJ2 in England again.

When JJ2 was in sale in Poland (now it's sold out, but we still have JJ1 to sale), it was in normal CD box. It also had cover only in the front and had a black & white instruction. Lemme quote it here: Quote:
