<i>Sorta magic. Special magic. You will know it when you see the unit, or at least if you pay attention.</i>

<i>Now comes the difficult part for me. I need to figure out a way to restart the game in june. See, I need several things for this. First, I need a goal that makes sense from my perspective yet forces me to continue this war with Xion and L_G, and also forces them to continue the war with me. Second, I need to have an excuse to still fight L_G even after he beat Newb. This I have an idea for-
Someone or something keeps the frozen Newb from ever reaching me, and then something forces the real L_G to go away from Anima to this plane. In here, I still do not know about the L_G I know being fake thing, and thus attack him. Since I have such a low opinion of him, I would think any explanation of said L_G I know being fake thing at this point would be a lie to try to divert my attention. However, for this to work something would need to happen to keep L_G from retreating back to Anima and hiding there like he has a tendancy to (since he would lack any reason to keep fighting me at that point and would probably just go back.)
While that idea has some holes in it, it still has potential and if those holes were filled it would work perfectally. Any suggestions from anyone?</i>

*thinks of Sin from Final Fantasy X*
Risp_old

<i>Err... what?</i>
Lem_Gambino
Apr 25, 2004, 06:12 PM
I was thinking that Sin, the big ugly fish creature from FFX would be the one to keep L_G (or anyone else, for that matter) from traveling between dimensions. It could warp time, and trap everyone in a never-ending time loop (like in the first Final Fantasy game), and it would get stronger and stronger until...BAM! no more universe.
Sounds like fun, yes? BTW, Sin won't be on anyone's side. It'll go around and blow stuff up, then leave and blow some more stuff up. I (as in the real-life me) would control all of it's actions, randomly attacking areas and player characters (including mine) until someone defeats it.
Risp_old
Apr 25, 2004, 06:20 PM
<i>Considering what your idea of 'random' is, if that happens I will most likely find myself baseless at the start of the second chapter. However, that also would give you an excuse to go in.</i>
Lem_Gambino
Apr 25, 2004, 06:30 PM
It could be anytime; when I say random, I MEAN random. He could attack a bunch of other places and not even know you exist, unless you attack him. Then he'll beat you to a pulp (as you, your character, not necessarily your whole base, although it might get lost in the process). Basically, Sin just floats around and blows up whatever. It MIGHT come after you, it may not. Depends on where your base is.
Risp_old
Apr 25, 2004, 06:33 PM
<i>Considering how large the universe is, if it picks targets totally randomly, I would be suprised if it picks any one of us throughout the game. Besides, you have a history of being bad at randomly doing things.</i>
Lem_Gambino

Bleah, I wasn't thinking back then. XP
Risp_old
Apr 25, 2004, 06:40 PM
<i>As long as you promise Sin will not attack more than one of my characters at a time or damage my base, and will not attack me more than once every 50 story posts, I am fine with that plan.</i>
Lem_Gambino
Apr 25, 2004, 06:48 PM
Okey-dokey. But it WILL attack if you provoke it enough, but only if it sees you as a major threat. So, it'll leave alone for a good long while.
Risp_old
Apr 25, 2004, 06:56 PM
<i>Ok. Here is what I see so far-
You sent frozen Newb to me. However, Sin, having escaped to here from another plane, absorbs him. Now with Newb's knowledge of Animenia (or whatever that place is called), it knows to go to Animenia so it can use all the energy there to restore and strengthen itself. You, realizing this, rush in to stop Sin. Going with the best fighers and mages from your realm, you enter this plane. However, at this time, Sin warps time to keep anyone else from entering or leaving. All your gaurdians, who were elsewhere when you entered, now cannot enter and easily dispose of Sin like they could have otherwise. When here, I attack you and pretty much force you to fight a two-way war between Sin (suped up with Newb's power), and the Peep Army, and without your millenium pen (which only works in Animenia, right?) to allow you to use infinity magic, ancient magic, or (most) high magic.</i>
Lem_Gambino
Apr 25, 2004, 07:25 PM
A few things:
-L_G is learning High Magic. >: ) He MIGHT get Ancient Magic, but he has to do stuff to get it, and with all the other stuff going on, he may or may not get around to it. =O
-Sin will attack anyone and everything that it considers a threat.
-Newb is pretty weak, so Sin won't get much from him.
-I was thinking that -you- would come after -me.- That would make it easier to explain stuff. But I'm willing to adjust; I have a plan in the works.
-You -DID- play FFX...right????????

Tangent takes a step towards the portal, and then another, walking up like on an invisible staircase. He stops next to the portal, turns, and motions to Risp. Risp, after hesitating for a moment, follows suit using a pair of jetboots. After going in, the first thing that Rspss Fr sees is... blue. The landscape is extremely blue. The sky, or is it a sky?, is pure, monotone blue. The ground, while being a brown, is glowing blue with energy. Once he gets over the blueness, Risp begins to see this landscape fully. The ground he is standing on is a large chunk of ordinary brown dirt, faintly luminescent with the immense energy Risp senses in this land, is bobbing gently in an imaginary breeze while otherwise seemingly suspended, gravityless, in space. There are dozens of other platforms around here, in all directions from where Risp is standing. The sky, for lack of a better word, is simply a blue glow- no clouds, no texture. The portal, behind him, is the most visible object here. Now spewing red at the edges, Risp is fully sure where it leads and is glad it is a very long-livid spell. Turning his attention back to Tangent, Rspss Fr sees that his head mage is doing an experiment. The cloaked mage is levitating his orb above his hand, and watching the energies of the place collide with the energies of his orb. Tangent turns to Risp, and starts to speak.
"There. I should keep the orb like that for a while. Now, I suppose you want to know about the chaos lands."
Risp nods. "You suppose correctly."
"Well good, because even if you said no I would have told you. Now, the chaos lands are rather special for an alternate universe. In some accident, I know not what, all the stars in it simultaneously went supernova. All the mana inside them was forced out, and held together some of the chunks from the disintegrating planets. These platforms we are standing on are some such chunks. The infinite energy released from the stars also killed those few creatures who survived the supernovas, mainly immortals and semi-immortals. The loose energies here are extremely useful for mages, if they can withstand it... Ah, the orb is done."
Tangent snaps his fingers, and his orb, now humming with blue energies, lowers into his hands. He puts the orb in his pocket and then turns to the portal.
"That energy should be useful... well, my work here is done."
Tangent leaves through the portal, closely followed by Risp, thinking over what Tangent said.
<i>Quite wordy, but it needed to be said. Sadly, the next part will need to be wordy too.</i>
Lem_Gambino
Apr 27, 2004, 06:52 AM
Wordy nothing. Keep writing, this is getting interesting. Perhaps there is some evil force that wishes to use the chaos lands' excess energy to rule the universe? (not me of course XP)
Xion
Apr 27, 2004, 08:47 AM
<i>Tangent, I bet, is thinking that, Lem. :p</i>
Risp_old
Apr 27, 2004, 01:29 PM
<i>Nah. To get that much energy Tangent would have to stay in the chaos lands for quite a while, and anyone who stays there for too long dies.</i>
Xion
Apr 27, 2004, 01:52 PM
<i>That's what the orb is for! Duh!!</i>
Risp_old
Apr 27, 2004, 02:00 PM
<i>If the orb is spending most of it's energy reanimating Tangent it can no longer store the needed energy to take over the universe, and neither can Tangent.</i>
Xion
Apr 27, 2004, 02:31 PM
<i>hm.
Well, there is a way that these energies can be channeled into taking over the world here...and I may be the only one that may have this idea.
Tangent...can I ask a question about tangent?
Is Tangent a planeswalker?</i>
Risp_old
Apr 27, 2004, 02:35 PM
<i>He knows spells for interdimensional travel. However, he lacks knowledge of how to rapidly do so (which is actually very low-level high magic), like planeswalkers do. Interpret this as you will, since I do not know the formal definition of a planeswalker.</i>
Xion
Apr 27, 2004, 04:04 PM
<i>Any person that can cross planes without any outside help (i.e. potions, machines, etc.) is a planeswalker. Lay that definition over Tangent and see if it's a match. If it is a match, then he is a planeswalker. If not, he is not.</i>
Risp_old
Apr 27, 2004, 04:25 PM
<i>Well, he can do it without any outside devices, but he perfers not to. I suppose he is.
Oh, and some more information about peeps-
A fully grown peep is about 1 foot high. A baby peep is a lot shorter, being the size you see the peeps sold in stores and such. Peeps live on a healthy diet of food coloring, sugar, and glucose. When fed the same color of food coloring for about a week, a peep will change to that color. The Peep Army takes advantage of this by feeding all the peeps of a certain class the same color of food coloring. As they mature, peeps learn to modify their marshmallowy form, mainly growing hands to handle things and such. Since peeps are not very comfortable in water, Peep Army infantry armor is resistant to water.</i>

1. A monosaccharide sugar, C6H12O6, occurring widely in most plant and animal tissue. It is the principal circulating sugar in the blood and the major energy source of the body.
2. A colorless to yellowish syrupy mixture of dextrose, maltose, and dextrins containing about 20 percent water, used in confectionery, alcoholic fermentation, tanning, and treating tobacco. Also called starch syrup.

<i>I'm talking about his Chaos Iron. So that's not coming out?
I wanna incorperate Glitching into this game...that'd be cool.</i>
Risp_old
Apr 28, 2004, 01:44 PM
<i>I know what you are talking about. However, by doing this expirement he lost his ability to become a chaos reaper.

<i>Oh yes. the Antimatter cell.</i>
Risp_old
Apr 28, 2004, 01:53 PM
<i>No, I am talking about the running-around-faster-than-light stuff.</i>
Xion
Apr 28, 2004, 02:04 PM
<i>That's planeswalking.
Blink works like this.
1) portal is ripped right where Xion is standing, making him rift into a "temp" plane.
2) portal is ripped where Xion wishes to go, from memory. Xion can only blink to places he can see. So if he's in a fog, blink does not work.
3) Xion rifts back to the plane from the "temp" plane.
Since this is all magic on the stack of time, it can be done in a second. Though there is a "cooldown" of this, since Xion needs to regain his balance and his bearings on where he is in the current plane.
So, thanks to this cooldown, Xion can not blink twice within two turns. Twice in three turns, yes. Blink-cooldown-Blink.<i>
Risp_old
Apr 28, 2004, 02:06 PM
<i>So you are saying that the trick to having faster-than-light reaction times is to use teleportation...?</i>
Xion
Apr 28, 2004, 02:30 PM
<i>*nod*</i>
Risp_old
Apr 28, 2004, 02:32 PM
<i>That makes no sense whatsoever.</i>
Xion
Apr 28, 2004, 02:37 PM
<i>Well, that and a reaction-ability called "Reflex"</i>
Risp_old
Apr 28, 2004, 02:40 PM
<i>So, this skill that allows you to teleport somewhere with a cooldown and a skill that gives you enormously fast reaction times allows you to constantly run around faster than light?</i>
Xion
Apr 28, 2004, 03:49 PM
<i>yes. But Reflex prevents normal attack, not magic/abilities.
So if one of your units has like a freeze spell that stops me cold...literally...I'm open to attack.</i>
Risp_old
Apr 28, 2004, 03:53 PM
<i>I think I am going to stop arguing. Trying to figure out how knowing how to teleport and having good reflexes allows you run faster than light without creating sonic booms makes my head hurt. I think I will do some nice, easy to understand quantum physics.</i>
Xion
Apr 28, 2004, 04:07 PM
<i>Good idea.
Teleportation allows lightning speed. That's all you need to know.</i>
Risp_old
Apr 28, 2004, 04:12 PM
<i>Since teleportation seems to work on a per-teleport basis instead of a per-time basis, I would think that would just allow you one super-speed step before you would have to deal with the cooldown.</i>
Xion
Apr 28, 2004, 04:52 PM
<i>Exactly.
For example, here's an example of a battle sequence.
Risp Attacks Xion with Heavy Blade!
Xion uses Blink!
Risp Attacks Xion with his Overdrive Attack!
Xion is dead and crispy.
<s>See, I can't blink out of an overdrive.</s> So I need to use caution with the Blink ability, since I need a cooldown...my next action phase.
Don't worry, I have a failsafe for this too.
Edit: My error. I meant to say "I can't blink out of the second move, the overdrive." I can blink out of overdrives, but that's only if Blink is a readied spell.</i>
Risp_old
Apr 28, 2004, 05:02 PM
<i>Oooh. No wonder I was so confused. We were talking about something entirely different all along.
Well, I am happy most of my people's overdrives are spells.
Here is another species description-
Aghe (pronounced a-hee, or something)-
An Aghe is similar in size to a human being. They also have a similar outward appearance. The similarity ends there. Aghes have grey skin and can have eyes of almost any color. Their diet is mainly of meats of various kinds, though they also eat some fruits. They have achieved a nearly unsurpassed understanding of computers, and most of their society is computerized in some way. The orginization of the Cyber Lords is based upon them; all the Cyber Lords except Fia'onn is an Aghe, and most, but not all, of their subordinates (hackers, programmers, and roboticists) are Aghe. Aghes live an average of 150 years, though with the level of medicine today many live over 250.</i>

FYI: The following Pokemon attacks can't be dodged, but they can be blocked if certain attacks. They are: Swift, Faint Attack, Magical leaf, Shadow Punch, Shockwave, and Vital Throw. Using Lock-On or Mind Reader before an attack also makes it never miss, and Foresight and Odor Sleuth(sp?) negate the targets previous evasion effects.
Just thought I'd let you know.
@Xion: Two things:
-Glitch would wreck everything in the universe as we know it,
AND
-Planeswalkers aren't the only one with ubersonic speed: In Dragonball Z, Goku can use Instant Transmission to warp from point A to point B in a heartbeat.

A hovercar, coming from the west, parks to the stop outside a building. Coming out of it are Tangent and Risp. As they walk to the building, Risp looks up to the sign there- "The Official Peep Army Museum of War throughout the Ages." After wondering why Tangent brought him here, Risp walks in. When inside, a curious peep would normally first notice the ancient ironclad ships and strange antique weapons of war. However, in this situation, a curious peep would first notice the giant rune circle Tangent had etched into the floor eariler, and is now moving an old machine gun (from back when machine guns were considered artillery) into. Risp, knowing that if Tangent wants to explain something he will without asking, remains silent. And, sure enough, after finishing dragging the gun around Tangent starts to explain. "I hope you won't mind if I use this for a test of my new power."
Risp opens his mouth to say yes, but Tangent already had started casting a spell on it. Chanting the spell, Tangent's chains flow with energy and start to glow blue. A strange blue, a blue that fills the room and draws the attention of everyone while being very faint. The same blue glow that came from the portal to the chaos lands. A burst of energy... blue energy... spirals to the machine, and it empowers it. From ages now long past, energy drifts into the gun, and grow greater and greater as it meets the energies present in the world today. The glows fade away, and Tangent turns to Risp.
"There. That test was a success. Now, let us try this gun..."

Tangent and Risp walk out, and head north. In a camp up north, the last of the troops from a rival army are. They have been preparing a strike against the Peep Army for a few days now, but they had proven hard to root out, since while they were all infantry they are also highly manuverable and equipped with personal force-field generators that deflected small-arms fire. Their missle troops had successfuly kept airstrikes out, so the only real option would be a clash of infantry. Risp lays the machine gun down onto an overlooking ridge and, not knowing what to expect, fires it straight into the mass of soldiers. The bullets spew forth, and the camp soon becomes a killing zone. The bullets from the machine gun slide through all the force-fields like they did not exist, and kill the enemy effortlessly.
After seeing the white flag of surrender raised at the camp, Risp turns to Tangent. "What did you do to that gun?"
"I called it's power from the past. When this machine gun was first made, an attack from a machine gun onto a camp of totally unprepaired and unarmored soldiers would have produced a similar result. But, you say, they were armored? Their force-fields were no use. Such things did not exist in the past when this machine gun was made so they do not exist to this gun's bullets. Ironically, such ancient weapons as these will be among the Peep Army's most modern and powerful weapons."
Tangent smiles.
<i>However, this gun would not be so effective in the war against Xion and L_G. Since they more rely on magic or enchanted armor for protection, they would be safe. In this alternate universe magic was known all the way back to the medival period, perhaps before then, and magic protection was the only thing keeping machine guns in wars from creating the killing zones machine guns created in the real world when they were first used.</i>

<i>Quick question, Xion- can blink prevent any technique used, or only techniques used on the caster?</i>
Xion
Apr 29, 2004, 04:54 PM
<i>the latter, risp.
Xion's blink is very new to him, so it is very basic.
However, the more he uses it, the better he may become. Later, he can save his entire party with a cooldown or save his own hide with no cooldown, and even later than that he can save his entire party with no cooldown.
However, since he just became a planesmage at the end of season 1, he cannot use these advanced techniques. Maybe season 3 we could see these advancements.</i>

Xion looks around him. Nothing's changed. Computer still where it was, running his scanning program. Scrolls next to the computer, so he can figure out new techniques...Xion counts them, and notices there's one more than before. Xion finds the new scroll, with a small note on it.
<font face="Times New Roman">Dear Xion,
Seeing as we all owe you a thanks of gratitude for your new found powers, we all here think that you should have something. Inside this scroll is a powerful new spell, when used correctly can be very devestating. I hope you get more bang for your gil. :)

"awwr." Xion says, after reading it. Upon opening the scoll, Xion cocks his head sideways. "What the...Ancient magic?" Xion analyzes some of the text, but to no avail. "This is complete foreign to me. I should get this to a computer, but seeing how it's so old I might wreck it with Photon technology. Best not risk it." Xion re-rolls the scroll, and replaces the ribbon around it. Xion sits down in his chair and checks out his planal search map.
<i>hehehe. When I feel Xion is ready for this powerful spell, he will get it. Let's just say that in some cases it's the most powerful spell ever concieved, yet in others it's the worst ever created.

"Hey." Xion says back, continuing his work. "I know I saved them...where are they?"
"Look at this..." Tia says, pointing at an area in a plane. "Go back to our current plane." Xion switches back to the plane requested. A large green blot encompases an area of almost two star systems.
"That's weird...that wasn't there before the planal ruin." Xion says. "Thanks for noticing that." Xion gives Tia a small kiss on her cheek. "So this may be why I couldn't find him."
"Well, we could talk to Pioneer 2 about probes..." Tia suggests, blushing.

Tangent walks away from the now decamped enemy camp, and to an outpost near the main base. Getting on a hovercar, he goes away, closely followed by Risp. Soon after, he reaches the main base and gets out. Walking back to the main building, he enters the magic quarters. Risp himself takes a different route. He walks off to the training grounds, to check on the troops. There he sees Strato, now giving a speech to the hackers on the importance of magic in a proper army. Satisfied to see everything normal, Risp continues down to the campgrounds. He meets up with a red peep. "Status report, Captain Neith."
"Everything is normal here. The troops are still in fine morale, and the second barracks is nearly half done. Our scout parties have found some more mineral deposits, and we are already building mines there. Some of the outposts on the edges of our territory have reported increased activity in the local militias, but they will not be a problem. We are most likely going to quell all the resistance on this planet within the month."
"Good..." Risp says, "carry on. I think I shall check up on Veltha next..."

Now different locations can have a few types of enemies that are encountered there if you enter. They have allignments of their own, so they can be good evil or neutral, though they are most commonly neutral. I am not done with the list, but here are a few examples of my work so far-

500 d 2000 hp
weak against fire
King Lion (miniboss): /neutral/
1000 d 5000 hp
*majestic (anyone who uses an attack or a technique on King Lion gets -1 attack this turn or on their next turn if they would have 0 for this turn without the help of majestic; counterattack)
strong against all elements
Pathbinder: /evil/
400 d 2000 hp

May 15, 2004, 11:50 AM
<i>Well, the terrains are HUGE in this game. The Caves and the Ruins are the two largest areas in the game. :D

Sinow Berril, Delbiter, Sinow Zoa, Sinow Zele, Gran Sorcerer, and Gal Gryphon.

<i>Well, you know more about them than me.</i>
Xion
May 15, 2004, 12:28 PM
<i>That I do.
And I want to make one small change...Instead of Sinow Zele, I want a Mil Lilly.
Sinow Zoa - Can Freeze, and turn itself invisible and warp. Casts reflection, so it can be found even when invisible.
Sinow Berril - Turns Invisible, doesn't cast a reflection, no status effects.
Delbiter - Powerful tiger-like animal, a good meleé fighter, with a powerful beam strike. Can Charge and confuse.
Gran Sorcerer - Casts Grants (Powerful and slow Light-based Spell) and Megid (Instant death, slow moving, VERY low hit rate [16% or less]) from it's Right crystal, and Resta (A high-powered healing spell) from it's Left Crystal. However, the crystals are in plain sight and unprotected, so a few good strikes shatters them. The Sorcerer itself can warp around the field, and usually flees when it's active crystal is broken. Uneffective without it's crystals.
Mil Lilly: Very rare about, and they are reserved as the last level of defence of Xion's. Very powerful, and very deadly. Their Megid blasts are very fast, so they are hard to dodge but still have the low rate of hit. Compared to their akin Ob Lillies, their rate of hitting is almost doubled, from 16% to 33%. Their range is their falter, with a range of about 10 feet. All megid spells have this same range, so if you are out of range (Yes, 10 feet 1 inch is out of range.) and have a weapon with the lilly in range, you can easily kill it. Though when it's out of range, it can still use a room-wide ability that paralyzes at a 25% hit ratio.
Gal Gryphon: A large Gryphon, prefers swooping to sitting down and attacking with it's magnificent claws. Can create typhons with it's large wings, may it be in air or on the ground. Prefers to snatch up intruders and drop them off at the bluffs on the Southwestern area of the island.
FULL stats I'll get to later.
Risp_old
May 15, 2004, 12:34 PM
<i>So, with the short range of the Mil Lilly it's attacks would be considered Melee ranged?</i>
Xion
May 15, 2004, 12:48 PM
<i>Nay. Meleé range is about 1-2 feet, maybe even 3. This is more short-range than anything.
Meleé - 0-3 feet.
Short Range - 3-10 feet
Long Range - 10-300 feet
Hyper Range - 300+ feet
Risp_old
May 15, 2004, 12:55 PM
<i>There are only 2 ranges in this system (and in fact in most RPGish systems)- melee and ranged. Melee things are, generally, things that are at such a short range you need to walk to your target and cannot hit anything flying. Ranged is anything longer than that.</i>
Xion
May 15, 2004, 01:05 PM

Risp_old
May 15, 2004, 01:26 PM
<i>That is a pointless question. Melee is a classification that has an actual meaning in the game. In that case, the gun (while being in reality some kinda impossible and useless ranged weapon) would be melee. Think about this- with that hypothetical gun, would you be able to hit a hot-air balloon? If it was classified as ranged, then it would be able to hit such a balloon even if the balloon was 50 feet in the air.</i>
Xion
May 15, 2004, 01:29 PM

immune to all elements but darkness
Madman: /neutral/
10 d melee 600 hp 40 mp
*break (deals 500 kinetic d; 10 mp)
*crack (deals 1500 kinetic d and confuses; takes 30 mp and 40 hp)
Autohammer: /neutral/
600 d melee 400 hp
strong against fire, steel. weak against lightning
Dark Matter: /evil/
1000 d melee 600 hp
strong against all elements
Yeti: /neutral/
300 d melee 600 hp
immune to ice. weak against fire

I will throw all the laws into a hat, and draw three at complete random. These three are now BANNED at the beginning of the battle.
R1-R4 laws warrant a Yellow card, and the removal of all JP/Overdrive from the offending unit.
R5 laws warant a Yellow card, Removal of all JP/Overdrive from the offending unit, AND they will be dispelled of all positive boost magic.
R6 laws warrant a Red Card, Removal from battle, Removal of all JP/Overdrive, and the confiscation of Unit's equipment untill they are released from the Gran Da Val prison.

oh. Gran Da Valian Prison. Well, that's only a temp thing, since some battles can run upwards to a week. Besides, they will have a soft bed, a warm room, and hot food and cold water/hot water.
When the battle is finished, you'll get your unit back. The items are just taken away so that they don't "fight back" to get back into the fight, but I do agree that they will be returned.
You're welcome.
That law system had five judges, with their pros and cons. But that's a touch biased, also, don't you think? All I need is every type of magic, weapon, and a few more (Dmg: Human, Fight, Magic, Law Cards, and so on) and throw them into a hat.

My post 1500.
Flee is a FFX ability that allows the party to run away at once. I don't know any such abilties that allow Sin to run away, but I can make one up:
What's that behind you?!- Allows user and party to run away, regardless of laws.
Sin also knows some Gravity magic (like Demi) that slices a target's HP by a certain amount. It also has Giga-Gravation, but it wouldn't be useable since we're banning instant death skills. GG KOs ALL opponents, regardless of HP, but in FFX, Sin doesn't use it unless you wait 12-13 turns. I won't give Sin GG.
