INSTRUMENT Hero: Jazz Jackrabbit
Indeed, i am making this game.
Well the first things i need to point out. I am using the program Frets on Fire as the base, which i will post a link, i will also post a link with the upgrade to all the rock band gh skins. Second thing: This will be for PC, and it supports both the keyboard and guitar hero/rock band guitars as peripherals. Now the reason i am posting this in game development is i am going to make all these songs into guitar hero customs, and have them as a download, along with coding for an actual guitar hero style career. Songs will only have 1 skill level though. Now to the big part, I am asking everyone to vote for songs for this. I am looking at between 30 and 80 songs. Songs can be standard from any Jazz game, Dlc by users posted on j2o, or anything made by the composers of the jj2 music(for the past inspirations and such ingame). Songs do not need guitar, just a main melody. Please post any thoughts below, and as many as 10 suggestions per person. The songs with the most votes will likely be included. The basic setlist {38 songs} (dlc will likely be made available after release) Jazz1: Song10(Crysillis) - (100% completed) Song17(Medivo) - (100% completed) SongCD5(Deckstar) - (100% completed) XM3(Holidaius2) Song14(Scraparap) Song13(Dreempipes) Song11(Orbitus) Song16(Megairbase) Jazz2: Finale (100% completed) Intro - (100% completed) Dark Groove Pt1 - (100% completed) Jazz be Damned - (25% completed) Hell Freezes over Labratory Level Pull Back the Bass Xmas2 Jazz3: Haunted Terrero - (100% completed) Castle Boss - (100% completed) Basement Boss - (100% completed) Jack of spades Green Target Funky Foyer Skygazer Learning Curve Community Remixes: Get Medieval - Luigi Elettrico(Dr. Eggman) Get Medieval 2 - Luigi Elettrico(Dr. Eggman) JazzBossTune2 Gameloop() - Luigi Elettrico(Dr. Eggman) Tempurature - FawFul -Ancient Ruins- PT32 Labrat Funk - Fear of Dark Diamantine Rain - Lark Jazz Jackrabbit Composers - Other songs Hong Kong Action (Deus EX) - (100% completed) The Last Ballad Tyrian, the Level(Tyrian) Mechanism 8(Unreal Tournament) ExtremeEnd(Unreal) Warlord(Unreal) Razorback(Unreal Tournament) Last edited by plunK; Apr 30, 2009 at 02:45 PM. |

You go ahead, darling, and I will 100% them all! Muwahahahaha.
Okay, let's get serious. I don't really think JJ songs are good material for GH/FoF levels. Sometimes it will be hard to determine a melody, and the constant echoing of the existing melodies may very well confuse the player, as he hears a lot of notes twice. Accurately making these tracks will require you to make a difference between echoes and actual notes 'played on the instrument'. If you need an example, take a look at the intro of F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. from GH3. That demonstrates clearly how echoes and notes should look. |

True, Very true, but i am willing to spend time to make them really high quality. It will probably take quite some time, but ill do my best. As for echo and such, i will be constantly looking the core mod files for these to help make them perfect

Okay, very well. I wish you luck (and that's not meant as sarcastic).

Very interesting. I'll certainly check it out

Just thought about it, and, well, usually when I make custom songs, it's impossible to get the melody out of the song since they're all .mp3 fully compiled files. But with JJ2 music, you can just output the melody line and make it into your 'guitar.ogg' file.

Clearly 3ddemo.mod, or as I like to call it, "The Ballad of Fooruman," should be present.

Suggestion noted, investigated, considered. This is catchy, but it is neither a Jazz track, a community remix, or by the jazz composers. I will, however, consider this for a DLC pack |

totally you should do all 3 of the Jazz themes (1,2, AND 3D--That was my fav).
Do Deep Wander too.

I would love this. If only I could use my Wii Guitar on this.
I'm guessing a PS2 one would work since that can be plugged into the PC with a PS2 to USB converter thing. |

Yeah i changed the name i dont want copyright guys at my back for guitar hero
I have been considering the DLC/bonus songs situation. Four track packs are planned, each with 6 songs. The first DLC update will likely be the JJ3 track pack with: Castle City, Deep Wander, Greenland, Runabout ,Sun Song and Fanfare(Yes an 8 second song). A second DLC pack will be the Intro pack with: MENUSNG, Jazz2 menu, Jazz2 menu(unused alternate),JJ3D theme, The Unreal Opening, and The Intro to Deus EX The third Likely DLC will be the Boss/Bonus track pack with: BOSS, BONUS, Bonus Level Remix, Boss stage 1, Jazz 2 Bonus Stage, and possibly Boss Stage 2 The Fourth (and possibly final) track pack will be the JJ2 track pack: Carrotus, Fastrack, Frolick Lane, Medieval Jam, Jazz Belmont, and Jungle Fevah v2. Other singles will likely be made on consumer request. Also: Due to the extreme difficulty of the final tier, some songs may have mediumish skill levels as opposed to the expert difficulty currently used, and this additional skill level may eventually be implemented on all songs btw, Wii controllers are actually supported, you just need bluetooth. |

I'd like to suggest fearofdark's Dark Groove remix. I think it'd be really fun with those small solos.
Also, if you're still going to add songs later on, I'd love to see some of the remixes from my JJGBA remix album which I'm still working on... ![]()

I just noticed you're using Frets on Fire as a base. May I ask if you're building a custom game theme to go with your JJ-related distribution? |

If you're thinking of names, I'd stray away from the word "Hero." Activision has been going on a spree of slapping trademarks on as many "Hero" games as possible, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were just scumbag enough of a company to try to come after you for it.

The tunes are fine, mostly, if not a bit sketchy, but maybe that's because I've got FoFix. Dunno if that will influence the note charts.
By the way, Jazz be Damned doesn't end (soon enough). Just saying. :P |
