What game modes would you have in mind though?

The default multiplayer modes, ofcourse. As well as the custom battle and ctf gamemodes(LRS, pest, roast tag, flag run, domination, jailbreak etc.). Race should be in there, too, since nobody plays it anymore. If there was a way to start the race with /cstart (is there? cause i don't know ). I really don't know what to do about the coop mode, since you can't be the best jj2 playing country if you didn't compete in ALL of the gamemodes.
Also, since the booty treasure contest is over, we should have maps for a treasure tourney If only there was a team treasure hunt mode, that would be awesome |

It's very unlikely someone will do it for you. At best the description is relatively vague and ideas thrown all over, with no thought how well it would work in practice.
I've had thoughts about team treasure, but it wouldnt work in practice mechanically. Each has their own major flaws: Assuming the gem amount is dependent on the team itself, a team member could sit at the exit, doing absolutely nothing and win instantly the moment their teammates have enough gems. Or at some point, a cluster of players would be chainshooting near the exit. Or, trouble with communication: If gem amount still depended on the player, how would you pass gems to your teammate without typing? Treasure can get pretty chaotic, so there's not much time for typing. Who would be the leader? Without one, there could be arguments on who is the gem collector. If you can think of a way team treasure would actually work though, be my guest. You don't seem to understand that in the olympics, that participators specialise in certain sports. So it's not really like the olympics, it's a watered-down JDC with players representing their countries. I don't think splitting into nations is a good idea. Making a country win based on medals would make it more into "Whatever country has the highest amount of "pro" and most active players wins". And then if you're so eager of having every nation to participate in every event, it's a huge pain to organise. I prefer balanced teams much more.

And it's also unlikely the real Olympic committee would organize a multitude of JJ2 tournaments for JJ2 olympics or anyone can form their own Olympic committee. Would it be summer or winter olympics? That's an important factor to consider. Contemplate. It'd take so many people to organize that there wouldn't be enough players left to play.

There are two vaults (bases?) for each team. The players from the team collect gems and all of their collected gems store in the base. Example: Two teammates. Each one has like 30 gems. they both go to the vault, and store their gems, and the vault will have 60 gems (30+30=60 ). i'm no programmer though, so maybe this ain't possible... Quote:

That's actually a pretty cool idea. I saw it in another game once and it was really fun
Also it's possible to make.

And, there is too the issue of collecting and analyzing all the data from the results of the contests. When someone won, who has to announce "Jelly Jam won gold medal for the planet Mars" on TV and radio? How do we get people to even pay attention if they don't play? And which players would be invited to represent any country? In real olympics, every country has a committee for each sport to decide who will make the team, who will try out, who will practice who will replace and substitute. In jazz national tournament each team gets a captain to recruit players for a 3v3 team which is common practice. What ensures that the teams can play on an equal playing field? |

How about hosting one tournament at a time, i mean, play the first tournament, and when it's finished, crown the winner of that tournament. Next is a tournament for another gamemode, and so on. And by the end of the year, the best playing country will be anaunced

Yeah, actually maybe just choose one single gamemode, and focus on that and see if it can get done. I'd just have to say, it shouldn't be CTF since that would make this a NT clone, and battle is played out already, JDC is enough for battle games really. I always loved bank robbery but there aren't many levels and not many people who know how to operate it.
So I would suggest LRS. LRS is fairly popular in camel duels and other servers, especially when people want something other than CTF but not overplayed battle or non-competitive ground force. Pestilence gets some play too in rare, random moments, but I've definitely seen more LRS than pest. Most of the other modes are only played infrequently, for JDC events or when someone hosts a special server. (And race is for crazy obsessive people like when I played with my sister years ago.) So anyway, imagine who the likely countries to play would be (or which countries would be most likely able to field a team if they're interested). - Poland - Romania - Egypt - Serbia - Germany - Netherlands Other teams could be possible as well, surely there's others who might have other ideas. I'm not going to name every country in JJ2 but those seem to me like the countries with the most active representative players. So, see if there's any interest from someone who would like to be a captain for any of those countries. If there's players, then that's a start. |

Theoretically, I find your idea appealing, but I think it might just be too much work to carry it out. Organising the national tournaments for just one gamemode already took a great deal effort. I just can't imagine doing that times eight (or whatever number of gamemodes you settle on).
Alternatively, you could play one gamemode per match week, or something of the sorts. While that would lessen te work load, you'd probably run into issues of fairness since you compete against different teams in different gamemodes instead of against different teams in the same gamemode. Hosting should be no problem with Camel servers around, however. |
