Getting bored with this topic. Maybe I should go edit Battle1 again. Can we have multiple entries?

Okay, I haven't had much time to work on this, but here is my level (The e-mail link through your profile still does not work):

I think I provided my e-mail here.
Anyway, today contest ends, so take your time before 18:00 GMT+1! EDIT : The contest just ended Battle 1 CTF - Violet CLM I heard much of a CTF battle1 edit, but never saw it. It's now a contest entry, so I finally can see it. As the gametype has been changed, it's obvious that there's ton of stuff modified too. Like, no seeker PU balcony, and warps were added to dead ends. Still, no level can be quirkless. Both bases are placed on the level's top, so the bottom might be pretty much unused during standard play. It has a Jazz Start, which DEFINATELY IS NOT the thing anyone could put in a CTF level. The eyecandy is not changed. Tisk tisk. Battle1a.j2l - PHT This edit apparently uses Carrottus 1 Night set, not my favorite tileset hence it's a night version. Anyway, eyecandy is somewhat mediocre. I expected much more than a cave-styled layer 8 background and barfing translucent tiles which apparently are substitute for the stone layer 4 background in Castle tileset. Stuff there is overdone as some places, too, which also is not a good sign. Seeker area has been replaced with an odd device with tubes, springs, lots of ammo and such. Not really understandable concept if it is a concept anyway ;o This level has got fly carrot instead of copter. BUTBUT author didn't put its MCE version which works during multiplayer play, unlike the event itself does. So, played on the net, this is unplayable. Room with springs is now filled with lots of airboards, which makes the game unfair automatically. EM's Edited Battle Game - EvilMonkey This level was worth its own sneak peak. The eyecandy ruxored, it was very well done. From smooth waterfall animations to the neat multi colored destructable blocks. No real complaints in that departamnet. The level itself has been hollowed with new passages which link some parts of level together. It's pretty confusing at the first time you play it, but you will like the upgraded design immediately. EM made it even so that there are no dead ends maybe except for the bottom right one, but that one is barely used. Some placed are questionable, like the removal of warp to seeker balcony to "encourage balanced gameplay". But, the coin warp leads to a box with seeker PU, so people can camp here anyway. Why just not put that to a sucker tube? ;p OVERALL I was really dissapointed with lack of entries. Anyway, no level was quirkless; Violet's had Jazz Start, Monkey's had lag ammo crates, and PHT used FLY CARROT EVENT. More or less, two first levels were heavily modified, while PHT's one had some places which looked rushed. So, there are the results! ![]() 1. EvilMonkey 2. Violet 3. PHT Because of lack of levels and the gameplay change in Violet's edit hosting any of the levels is not possible O.O And PHT's was barely playable. So, what the prize might be? I will have to think on something 1337... darnit >| Last edited by cooba; Sep 18, 2004 at 08:46 AM. |

Heh, I wasn't expecting to win at all, but with this little entries, I guess it did happen. :P
I've completed version 1.1 of my level, which includes a fixed version of dreams.xm that loops, a few fixed tile bugs, the RF PU in a different spot, and some extra fixes. Now if my FTP server would stop acting up I would upload the new version... ugh. |

Congrats to Evil Monkey, and also for Violet for making a better level than me (that's not difficult though).
![]() I didn't knew about the fly carrot glitch, so sorry for that. Remember, I can't play over the internet. Anyways, even though I lost I'm not angry, just take my level as an example how not to do it. ![]()
