1.23 is downloaded separately from plus, by the way.

Find a TSF without LK Avalon, I remember I had one, if I can find it I will give it to you.

Yeah but just install TSF, not TSF & Plus, because the plus on the installer it's an older version. Install TSF and download the plus from here: JJ2+

/me puts admin hat on
Just a quick reminder that links to warez and abandonware are not allowed on this site. This includes posting instructions on how to find warez/abandonware. |
Dec 7, 2014, 03:36 AM | |
What? but he didn't put any link.

No, but he did post instructions including a website name. Just because it's not a link you can click on doesn't mean it's allowed.

If JCF and some other site (site removed -- Torkell) are for the same community, then i dont see a reason to not post the instructions from that reply

They're not the same community, and have a different host. Some other site (site removed -- Torkell) is more about the ladders and "competitive" side of the community. They're more relaxed about posting warez. It's probably to do with host provider rules.

I doubt that some other site's (site removed -- Torkell) host provider allows warez. If more people visited, eventually someone would report a virus (JJ2+) to their ISP, which could result in the site being taken off the web. The problem is lack of distinction between virus and warez.
Plus the communities are basically same. Just two different subsets of the same group of spam bots. I already even reported some other site's (site removed -- Torkell) piracy to Epic's twitter. Last edited by Torkell; Dec 7, 2014 at 02:57 PM. |

Alright, enough of this. This is the JJ2+ thread, not the "should sites permit warez" thread.
Feel free to create such a thread if you want to continue the discussion, as long as you obey the "no warez/abandonware" rule. Also, while I've removed the name of the site in the previous posts that doesn't mean you can't post about it or link to it. Just not in the context of providing warez (otherwise we'd have to block Google ). |

I wouldn't worry about piracy until Epic actually bothers to redistribute JJ2. But I better not say much else, because oh wait, it's actually a joke that no one else gets but Krsplat himself, but no one understands because they're dry as sandpaper, so you don't always know when he's actually serious. Edit disclaimer: This post was being created before the mod posted and edited. This forum doesn't have a feature that makes you reconfirm a post, if someone else submitted one, while you were creating a post.

having some issues with JJ2+...
1. is there any way to disable joystick input/wipe all default joystick? i want to use xpadder and avoid conflicts with the game arbitrarily decides my buttons are 2. no music during the intro video or menu, how can i fix this, that menu song is unforgettable |

2. That's Gry's fault, he didn't include menu.j2b in the installer. Nor the intro or bonus music. The J2O mod archive isn't working right now, so the only way I can think of getting the menu music, is downloading this; http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads.../menuj2b/info/

At least these songs are included in the Shareware game, so perhaps try and download a shareware JJ2 copy from any source on the net, install it, and copy those songs to your JJ2+ folder.

Window JJ2 plus if it's on fullscreen, go to sounds tab (or however is it called) and uncheck Mute Music. If this is not the problem, idk.

Let's look at what changes are anticipating in the next plus release.
- Powered up electroblaster (ice blue color) - Bugfix about using mouse wheel in menu screen or serverlist causing crashes |

A question: will the bug that crashes JJ2+ when starting the game in fullscreen mode be fixed? The bug has been reported by me and various others in the years past, and I believe it's there since one of Blur's later releases. It only happens when you last quit JJ2+ in fullscreen mode. The current workaround is to always start with the -menu flag, but that still exits fullscreen and somehow minimizes the window each time. Another 'issue' I have is with the removal of the 70FPS limit in fullscreen. I don't know why or how, but for me vanilla JJ2 runs smoother in fullscreen than Plus does, which shows minor stuttering during movement. It's not a big deal or anything, but maybe make a .ini setting that allows players to choose a target framerate for (at least) fullscreen mode? Perhaps I'm one of the few players that uses fullscreen most of the time, so I hope I'm not such a bother with these issues.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that this forum forbids illegal content including warez and even if somebody wanted to, they couldn't post a link to a non-shareware version of any Jazz Jackrabbit game?

From wiki: "Two of the versions were distributed along with some of Intel’s hardware (the result of an Epic-Intel deal), and one of them was a press release which surfaced publically around May 2004." The Beta was included in some of Intel's hardware, so Intel PCs had JJ2 Beta installed. Why is it still forbidden to post links to the JJ2 full games since Epic doesn't sell them anymore? This is just silly!

I don't agree with abandonware with being illegal either, but rules are rules. This isn't the place to ask where to download certain copies.

This is not a 1.00g topic. Shoo! We have a perfectly good article about the differences, and you can play the 1.00 MP levels in 1.23 nowadays anyway.

My position on Tweedle is that someone should just code him/them up in AngelScript. If they do a good enough job, maybe it could be converted into JJ2+ code, but in the meantime there's nothing preventing people from writing their own Tweedle behaviors just as with any other sprite set. |

Whoever is making a level where they want to use Tweedle boss, will have ample reason and opportunity to make AngelScript code for Tweedle. Although there probably is no precedent for how to use Tweedle in a level, which could make it harder.

May I suggest a search bar for "Home Cooked Levels" section? I've got 209 levels, and sometimes I just want to go to the bottom of the list or somewhere in the middle really quick.

There's several improvements for that in the next release that will solve your problems, I think.
