Welcome to the forums! Yes, a fair amount of us still play JJ2, and a few of us even make levels. Be suer to go to www.jazz2online.com and get the latest everything. And be sure to go to www.fooproducts.com to support stupidity within the JJ2 community. ;p [/shameless advertisement]

Mm. . . I'm sorry for making a false assumption, then. I'm a bit defensive when it comes to certain things. And I hate admitting I'm wrong.

@Collins: Yeah, I hate single-character lvls too, especially the Spaz-biased ones. But those lvls are generally quite good and still playable with Jazz. Unless I'm seriously at a disadvantage I keep using Jazz, and so should you. If you're talking about Groundforce and Blurred's Survivor pack, then Spaz is actually a sensible choice because it would be far too easy for Jazz to escape traps in those lvls (with copter ears).

I, for one, fail to see why people would want to play Jazz Jackrabbit 2 anymore. In my experience, the community -- the ones that still play, I mean -- have turned into snobbish, elitest morons who only know how to laugh at you if you can't keep up with them. True, this happens to all the popular games at some point or another, especially with the rampant pirating that tends to go on every now and then. And yet. . .it never fails to amaze me when I see such things. Why? Maybe because I keep thinking to myself, "Oh, given time, these people will mature. They'll grow out of it." And some actually do. But for those that don't, they're followed by other, new people who decide "Okay, I'm anonymus online. No one knows who I am. Time to act like a jerk and get away with it! Yeehaw!"(See also "John Gabriel's Greater Internet ****wad Theory")

Edit: Oh, and the levels. What the Hell is up with these idiotic levels that have no flow to them whatsoever? I can understand Clan Levels to a degree, sure. To a lesser degree, I can even understand those stupid "trick" levels people make(Wind Meister comes to might right quickly). But. . .I refuse to play levels that are single-character centric in Multiplayer mode or levels that are poorly constructed, such as these couple Capture levels up on a couple servers as I type this.
One level has a tremendous amount of badly-placed platforms which require either a lot of well-timed Double Jumps from Spaz(not an easy task when you're running with the opponent's flag back to your base) or a number of concentrated Super Uppercuts from Jazz(which takes quite a while to do). This level also has Freeze Hourglasses in front of either forification, which is quite annoying when you're trying to return the other flag and you end up not moving fast enough to do so.
And the other level is better designed, but unfortunately, it has no Blue flag in it! That's right. Only one flag. Whee.

Yes, if it's not the people being jerks, it's the levels being sub-par and poorly-flowing.

So, in answer to the question, however. . . Give me a good reason to come back to the online community I once actually tried to tread upon, and I'll think about it.
I love you

I think a community without jokes is stupid, but also don't override it. And i am still playing Jazz2, i don't really know for how long but my dad gave me a copy around 1998. For now i don't really like to play online, but i am somewhat good at making levels and tilesets, like my first Jazz2 tileset named "Lava Cave" was rated to a 6.5 now!

I wish I could more. I lost my CD eons ago and both that and school/job have been eating up my time. I'm extremely tempted to buy another copy though, would be nice for a change of pace.

Yes, buying copy's of old games like Jazz2 is something hard and would take time. May you can do if you have vacation or something, but how did you lost your Jazz2 CD?

I am not sure, it was quite a long time ago. I believe I put it in our old computer desk, but it vanished for some reason. The details are sketchy. I was thinking more of purchasing it on amazon.com. There seems to be a few copies for sale, and there's always E-bay I suppose.

Maybe because you need 1.20 and convert it to 1.23 with the patch? I don't think you can buy 1.23 on eBay or whatever. Just 1.20.

That was what i mean, sorry for that. But it still are mostly the TSF and Christmas Chronicles disks that are on it, i think because those disks are just like add-ons for the real 1.20/1.23 game..
