A new tourney? Say it ain't so.

Yeah, Gry and I are taking a shot at a small Assassination tournament. We already have the entrants, but we thought there's no reason not to let the rest of the world know, and also to let them have their wins glorified [and they would have some place to check for details of stuff].

The concept
  • It's an ASSASSINATION tournament, not any other gamemodes.
  • It's a 4v4 tournament, not 3v3/5v5 or whatever.
  • There are two levels in the mappool, and this mappool is basically forced upon every game. They are: ElectroStatic Warfare [JDCANC.j2l] and Iron Chaos [JDCANE.j2l]. These are downloadable from the file section in JDC. In each game, you will play to 5 in both maps, and draw up a total score from that. Ties are possible.
  • The whole tournament is group-knockout.
  • Just because we're nerds, we might make an award thing, so being a good leader or having good stats in general will come in handy if you like little stuff like this.

Participating clans

I think the leaders [for this tournament] are the people after the clan. =]

8-D - 8th Dimension [Ragnarok]
- Darksonic
- FireSworD
- Gr33n
- Hitch
- PurpleJazz
- Ragnarok
- SuperJazz
- Valmango

CC - Craccoclan [Grytolle]
- Anubis
- Chiyu
- Grytolle
- Maverick
- Riccardo
- Snooze
- Vegito

FoDF - Fellowship of Dark Freaks [Quickz]
- CelL
- Enigma
- EvilMike
- Quickz
- Salamander

iR - Insomniac Rabbits [SlaYeR]
- CzEcH
- Dodges
- Napoleon
- Robee
- Slayer
- St. Louis

Tournament Structure

This tournament will work based on group knockout (as previously mentioned). This will work in a series of rounds.
  • Round 1, Probably the longest round: The four clans will all have to face eachother in two 4v4s in the two Assassination levels. The most likely case will be that we will schedule a time for both teams/clans to be on and they will have to face eachother then. We'll do two at a time. Every team must play three games for this round. The team knocked out will be determined by the worst/least points (worst performance basically).
  • Round 2, Possibly not as long as round one: The remaining three clans will all face eachother, although I think this process will also take three weeks (boohoo). Again, same concept as round 1, and worst is knocked out once again.
  • Round 3, The AWESOME round: This is where the finale will take place, the two remaining clans will properly battle it out for first place. There may be a twist! Maybe. In addition, the two "knocked out clans" from the previous tables will battle it out for third place. (If you were knocked out first, you still have a chance of coming third)

Who, what, where, when?
I so editted this part. Alright, here's the plan. All four clans are to be on at 18:00 GMT on Friday 13th of February. In this time, both matches will be played, CC vs iR and 8-D vs FoDF. The rules above apply. Play to five on both games in the two named AN maps, and please have the neutral host record a PLAYLOG, and CHATLOG. I want both of these to be functional. Two out of six games will have been played after that day hopefully. Please contact Gry if you have trouble playing at this time.

Feel free to ask Gry and I for any stuff you may have.

If the leaders can, please post a list of your team members. At least four needed.
  • 8 D - Ragnarok
  • CC - Grytolle
  • iR - (No idea who leads the iR team)
  • (BUNCH) - Quickz
Don't make us play as BUNCH please, which is a really idiotic tag imo .. FoDF would be better. It's something like FoF in the last JJ2WC, but now DM's included as well. Anyway, DM is allies with FoR and FoR with TF, so this makes quite some sense!

Team members:
CelL
Enigma
EvilMike
Quickz

Haha, it's too big and complicated [although I think its damn simple]. Probably too hard to kill leader in 4v4 in Mutiny especially with the jails.

Anyway, 8-D's team currently: (I havent asked everyone)

- Darksonic (If I remember correctly)
- FireSworD
- Hitch
- PurpleJazz
- Ragnarok
- SuperJazz
- Valmango

I would like CC and iR to post their teams or status o_o *ehem gry*

The level's basically just as big as the other blur levels, and I think the jails would actually make for some interesting gameplay, considering they usually don't matter that much in a game with more players. Then again maybe that's just me.

Also, I propose for our clan to be named [CLAN] instead. Or maybe you should all just get things over with and join FoR instead.

That is brillant. Just make your tag [LAWL] It beats any other clan by a long shot. Make it something awesome.

CC vs IR

Because of how this game went down, I don't know the actual score in our game. That will be up to Rag to decide - I'll just post a description of how the game went including screens.

We decided to play at 15.00. At 14.50 Slayer and Robbee went to play a ladder match instead (idiots?). We waited till 15.25, then claimed forfeit for round 1, and decided that iR has to have players in server at 12.50 if they wanna play round 2.

Slayer and Robbee turned up at 12.40 or so, and since Slayer threatened to have iR leave the tournament, we decided to be nice and play both rounds anyway.

We won the first round with 5-1

We started playing the second round. I killed Slayer once by camping the carrotbox (like in DW) he got all whiny when I wouldn't give him -1 for a fair kill and left the game. We convinced him to come back, and started over from 0-0.

After 1-0 (again!) the server crashed for an unknown reason. It went back up and we waited 10 min or so for iR to get a 4th player (SR was gone). Then we decided to finish 4v3, figuring that was better than nothing. We won 5-0 in total that round.

So depending on what Rag decides the total score is either:
5-1 + 5-0 = 10-1
or
something else

Thanks to Sfaizt for hosting

(Screenshot of the forfeit win of round 1 attached)

The forfeit win

The real win of round 1

Round 2, Slayer played (twice) till 1-0

We forgot about capture wait, so every score had to be added manually in round 1. In round 2 we remembered, but we forgot it when the server crashed (so same thing there)

They did not. Three out of five of FoDF's (or whatever we're called) players, namely me, Enigma and Quickz were online on friday at the appointed time, namely 18:00 GMT. Sadly, however, our opponents were nowhere in sight. The only 8D member who was even online was PurpleJazz and he didn't know anything was supposed to be played at that time. Ragnarok surfaced about an hour later telling me he'd had some connection trouble but it was obviously too late by then.

Frankly I think the problem here was that the only notification of the tournament schedule was a minor edit to the first post of this thread; if I hadn't checked it by chance about a week ago I might not've known about the schedule either. I don't know when we're supposed to be playing 8D now but I think it'd be for the best to inform people more explicitly of schedule changes next time around.

You didn't even play so why in the world do you even bother saying that.
Get your clans best player to calm down for the sake of it when some tournament match is played, and get him not to play a darn ladder match 10 minutes before a tournament match was scheduled. Talking about stupidity. This match took far longer than originally planned.
Either way, gotta agree, even Sperry wanted VS to join in this tournament but no posts were made about it. They're not too active at the JCF ;p

I won't be available next weekend (or friday and perhaps thursday for that matter) so if we're going to be playing 8D someone else'll have to replace me (in case sal and Mike aren't somehow on and able to play at the same time, which is likely).

Personally I'd rather just arrange a time/date and play the game anyway. Forfeit wins are no fun, I'm in this for the games, not to actually win. I'm fairly sure my teammates'd agree. We can still claim the forfeit win after they kick our butts right?

Wouldn't you still have needed a 4th player for a Forfeit victory? As well, I'd expect more activity from also FoR and TF-parts of the team. Maybe you should consider about getting [si] to join the tournament as a 4th part for you? ;P

Like I told Rag, I'm all for playing the game against 8 D. There's not much fun in winning a game by forfeit.

Besides, I'm sure they'll be stunned by our good sportmanship, lose focus on the game and suffer a crushing defeat

Okay guys, since you're up for a rematch [and I'm sure we are too], here's the plan. Other two clans rest this week, and WE have a DIRTY SHOWDOWN to the death. Personally, I have no idea when is the best time to play, so I'm gonna say let's try Saturday 18:00 GMT. If you have a problem, please respond or say something. *calling all 8 Ders to come on this time*. Also, I kinda heavily back what SJ said, four players or no forfeit. Sorry >=]

As said I won't be there, gonna be playing Street Fighter IV with palls most of the weekend. <3

Also as said I don't think any of us have the intention of even trying to claim a forfeit win, so if our team ends up incomplete with me missing we'd appreciate it if you do the same for us. ;P

Yeah, 3 of us were ready to play, but I'm sure we could've found a 4th if 8 D would've been there. Anyway, if CelL can't play this weekend I suggest you just find a better time. I mean, that only sounds fair in this case. Also, congratulations CC, tho the screenshots are a bit.. vague.

I'm free most of the time, but if CelL can't make it, it kind of reduces our chances to put a full team together. We should probably think this over together and suggest some time we can all make it.
