Major Flaw in Contrabandent Patch

For some unknown reason, applying the Contrabandent patch seems to prevent hosting for some. If Contrabandent is the only list server listed, Jazz 2 will act as if it is hosted; however, it will not show up on the list server.

Has anyone found a solution for this? It seems to work for me to set Logicware as 000 and Contrabandent as 001.

Having jazz2.contrabandent.com as 000 and 001, works fine for me with hosting and stuff.

You should always have 2 registry entries with the same data. When hosting jj2 takes random choices out of the game exe and from the registry. If you have only 1 registry entry it may not take anything from the registry and not get you hosted.

I haven't had any problems hosting or joining, and I made jazz2.contrabandent.com as 000 and 001, and it works perfectly fine for me..

Who has had that problem besides you, Trafton? Odd that it would only affect some people...Is there anything unusual about your jazz2.exe? (Like, did you have Alberto's patch?)

Use the JJ2 add-on for mIRC, then start your server and remember to press the 'List Server' button. It's actually that button what makes it work.

We all fall down, and we get up. But what about falling down again. Because the list servers are down again.

What Bobby said, but the best way is having the list in the .exe file.
The list server is down but there's one up and my patch is connecting to the only one that works.

Oh, yay, thanks for the patch, Alberto. Jazz.contrabandent.com is down right now, though.

Yer welcome, I know Contrabandent is down but now my patch is connecting to my own list so you still can play JJ2 till Contrabandent goes up, that's why I suggest everyone download that patch, it works well.

Yay. =) Alberto's patch and list server work quite nicely. I just played a game with someone else who downloaded the patch. More people should download it.

Here's the link for the 1.23 patch: http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads...p?levelid=2536
And for TSF:

Thanks, Beto!
