Error connecting to list servers is an irregular problem with three possibilities:

1. You do not have the latest list server patch (a new one was released very recently, see J2O).
2. There are no servers up or the list servers are down.
3. You have a firewall blocking you from outgoing list access.

Ensure number 1 and 2 are fixed by downloading the latest patch and verifying that the list servers are up by checking games in progress.

Number three may take some more work. The most likely cause is a software firewall. Check if you have ZoneAlarm or some other firewall running. Also check if the Windows XP firewall is enabled. If you have a firewall, you will need to configure it to allow JJ2 to access the list servers. Consult your individual documentation to do this.

If you can't find a software firewall, you either have a router that is blocking the connection, or your ISP is blocking the connection. If you have a router, see this article. If your ISP is blocking the connection, you will have to talk to them to get support.

If you have nothing to do here but criticize other's help, and be too clueless to give your own like Link, then go away.

1) If your router is linkSYS, go here ( 192.168.1.1 ) ( if not go to next step, if so skip it )
2) Closed ports usually block spread of your IP Address. Open your blocked port.
3) Click advanced
4) Click DMZ Host
5) type the last part of your IP. To find it out go to network properties.
6) Have fun if it works.

Sorry but thats a REALLY stupid idea to recommend to anyone, without even warning them.

By doing this, your disabling the hardware firewall for one of your pc's, making it open to hackers.
