You need to set the paths in Jazztool for other versions. Also, this really isn't the place to be posting this.

That's easy.

Step 1: disconnect all network or dialup connections.
Step 2: start JJ2 server.

I am trying to get hosting working, but I don't get listed in listservers. Using JazzForce, I see that my internal IP address is being used, because I'm behind a router. I have opened all ports, but how do I tell Jazz Jackrabbit 2/JazzForce my external IP address?

Ok, I have a problem... or rather, my friend does:

My friend's problem is that he can't connect to the list server. Whenever he goes to join an internet game, he gets the message "Error Connecting to List Servers." I know this problem is quite common, but the situation is slightly different... he has opened his ports (10052-10054 TCP+UDP), downloaded a program (Port Magic) which is supposed to open the ports automatically when he plays online games, and his Windows XP firewall is configured to allow Jazz to connect to the internet--so his problem can't be opening his ports. He has v1.24 (TSF--not shareware.) He has tried joining through Jazz Force and XJJ2-- it says it's connecting, but it never does. He installed the list server patch, but I think the problem was that those were specifally for 1.23. I'm pretty sure his problem is that he needs a 1.24 list server patch, and I can't seem to find one (if one exists o_o;; )
-Also, internet play used to work for him a few months ago, and I'm not sure how it's any different now. However, he never could host a sever with or without JazzForce/XJJ2... they were always pinging. His servers now don't show up. So, basically, I'm wondering if he does need a 1.24 list server patch, and if so, where can he download one?

That's about it. I've confused myself, so I'll try anything if it'll work at this point XP. Thanks!

I still think, just opening 10052-10054 UDP/TCP does NOT help. I have logs in my firewall. According to them, JJ2 ALSO uses random port between 1001-1999.

You're possibly referring to Windows' ephemeral port range, which is actually from 1024 through 4999. These ports don't necessarily have to be opened manually as it depends on how a firewall deals with this port range.

I've got the problem that my server don't stop pinging all the time! I've configured my firewall correctly and if I join games, I haven't got the 30sec-Time-Out-Problem, but my hosted games are always pinging! How can I fix this?

Hi!

I'm having a problem with connecting to the online game list. I'm using a Mac, the latest Mac shareware patch (I've only got the shareware version) and I'm running it on OS 10.3.9. It says something like "connection error connecting to the game list". I got it to work once, authough that might of been on OS9 or without the patch.

Also, when I create games no one seems to join them.

Disable the firewall? It's useless anyway.

Disabling the firewall is generally a bad idea. And Jam, the Windows firewall isn't useless.

Buy a new router. Speedtouch doesn't work right with JJ2 ports.

A few days ago my router let me play JJ2, but all of the sudden now I cant (Nothing has changed accept what day it is).

So I figured Id look into makingt sure these ports were open/forwarded. Now in my router (D-Link) settings, the section that I suppose of for port forwarding and such, there is a text box for 'Trigger Port' (which actually is [box] - [box]), and 'Public Port', which do I need to open?

Almost forgot, below them are dropdown menus for TCP/UDP/Both. I know to pick both

Tagg, I know its you -_- (See: siggy)

Anyway, later today I can play cause I wont be home (That doesnt immediatly make sence, but you'll see later)

EDIT: Ok, my new router seems to be it bit more understandable, 'Global Port Range [box] - [box]' would be 10052-10054, correct? What is 'Base Host Port'? It can only be 5 characters long, btw

I am having problems with playing Jazz 2 Online in other servers on the internet. I have updated the game and have all the required patches for the game, but I always keep timing out. My router is a D-link Dl-524, and my firewall is Zonealarm Pro 6.5. I made it so that it allows Jazz and the router automatically opens any game ports detected. I am using a windows XP for this game between another XP and a 98.

I have connection problems now (Up until I put TSF on the other PC it was letting me on one server) and I have opened the ports on both PCs. I'm going to try and find a booklet for my 'Black box that lets me on the net' (I have no idea (-) a router is so meh) and see if I can find anything in there.

By the way I have a Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC

Ports 10052 and 10054 both TCP and UDP AFAIK. Your problem seems to be the UDP protocol in this matter. I've clearly been able to see you chat in online games and you are able to see the chat of other people. This means your TCP works properly. UDP is a different story as you appear as an immobile blinking character in game. This is probably how you see other players as well. Something must be blocking your UDP.

Question Hosting problem

As you might know my brother had hosting proplems.
Well because we was shareing the same net i have the problem to, as well as others who use my network (crazywct) sometimes greenz.

I have forward ports 10052-10054 the problem still happened.

About my lan device.

D-link
ethernet adaptor wireless.

I did it on both computers, and also i did it on only one, but my server was pinging,im aware you can't cheack if the server is not pinging by useing another lan pc.

I used the games in progress script would that work?
to find out if its not pinging?.

Also is it safe to give out my ip adress subnet mask and defult gateway?
id rather keep it private to a admin or moderator.

i can host on other games just not jj2.

please help me.
thank you.
