I think it would be cool, since I just played Jazz Jackrabbit with a gamepad for the first time since my old Gravis Gamepad, if we could add rumble support for this game. Hey, why not, right?

I think I'll leave the job of flaming you out of existence to someone else.

It's not that farfetched of a request. In fact, it almost strikes me as possible. Of course, I'm not one with the ability or knowledge to do it myself.

How would the rumble be used?

When your dude gets hurt, basically. We could also have any TNT going off near him do the rumbling, but basically, getting shot.

Hmm, I have a fair idea how to do this. Or rather 2 of them :P I have no idea how to communicate with a rumble device though

Any controller with a rumble feature I guess, it should be pretty universal. I'm using a Logitech right now. There's probably a full name, it's wireless, but I don't know it.

Hey I just posted, where is it? Anyway, I think it would be universal, apply to any joystick with a rumble feature. I have some wireless Logitech one.

I think I'd just grab my old joystick for this if it was possible.

Owned.

Also, I actually think this is an excellent idea. For testing purposes, I suggest the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. It is the best rumble-enabled "joystick" I know of, and it's fairly inexpensive. As far as actually making the game communicate with the rumble device, I have no idea how to do that. I'd suggest making an app that runs alongside JJ2 and sends the instructions to the controller. Just my two cents. ;p

Rumbling when you fire certain weaponry, or a TNT blows up makes sense.

Rumbling because a fish bit me, or I got sidekicked doesn't. I'd go so far as to say, rumbling when you get hit by a blaster or freezer doesn't make sense either.
