Red face music will not play

When I download levels to play, the music will not play. I downloaded this player, sonique, and it automatically 'takes' the music files in the zip files I download. Is there a player that JJ2 recognizes? Or if I am wrong do you know what the problem is? pleeeease help me, its really no fun having the sound messed up...

oh, and the normal music in the game itself works.

Files with the .j2b extension can not be played outisde Jazz Jackrabbit 2, because it is a jazz2-only file format. Other music, like .mod, .it, .xm and .s3m files can be played with jazz2 and players like winamp (and maybe sonique, but i never tried that).

And MODPlug works for playing them. .j2b can't be played outside of JJ2.
