Another great level by martin. "Fright Night CTF" has an epical storyline (well, a few lines in the readme ;-), a very good layout, many interesting details (try to find out everything!) and some attractive eyecandy. It uses the TSF "Haunted House" tileset which is quite difficult to use.
Summary: You should really add this to your best levels collection!
P.S.: TSF JCS is better >:-)
A good level with a good lay-out and choose of tileset. Altough one of the houses (the left one) could use some more eye candy.
I wouldnt say one of the best levels but i’m sure it’s another great one.
Ps: 1.23 JCS is faster
This is a top notch CTF level, better than Epic makes. You will not find a better CTF level around than this. The layout is great, eyecandy perfect and gameplay op notch.
This level is excellent.
I may be able to play this, but I still do not enjoy tsf levels because I’m part biased aganst it and a lot of people can’t play tsf levels. Because of this I will be mean and lower the rating by 1 :P
I couldn’t find any mistakes, or problems at all in this level.
10 points for being great
-1 point for being tsf :P
(at least you used a tsf tileset. If this was using a 1.23 tileset it would be more like -9)
PS: Tsf JCS is a paperclip, is worshiped by microsoft and plays the accordian.
I was pretty undecided about a rating for this, but before you download or check out, remember this: it’s awesome. :-)
The layout a superb, and the eye candy was used very well.
The password has been included via your reqests also please note this has
already been rated and was sent to the easter contest.
Amazing again, Martin.
The design and eye candy is very nice for the set, used it perfectly.
I do think that the level is kinda big, which creates two problems.
1. Makes CTF games not too fun, unless with at least 15 or so people.
2. It takes forever to learn the level. I find sometimes it’s fun if you can’t learn the level, rather than taking forever to learn inside and out.
Also, the springs on the walls below the Bonus are annoying and pointless.
Anyways, still used the set perfectly.
Download now!
Another GREAT lvl by Martin. Looks ace, plays ace, what more to say? Just download ALL of his lvls.
The best CTF AND the best lvl using the Haunted tiles. The reason y it’s TSF only is because the tile isn’t available for 1.23.
Yay Martin. Another amazing level. Fright Night CTF is really one of my top 50 CTF maps for JJ2. Its got great eyecandy, great gameplay, and well.. just everything you look for in an elite CTF level.
Design is awesome. The level is huge, and has many ways to go from base to base. Layout is nice and open, and plays very fluent. I’m not totaly sure about the start positions, but they are not at all badly done, though.
Eyecandy is amazing as well. The l33t TSF Haunted House set is used, and in a great way. The level consits of 2 houses on either side of the level, and some smaller ones in between. The rest is all spikey thorny ground, and looks really great. The only con in my opinion was, that there is no textured background. With one, this level would have probaly looked beter.
Weapen and powerup placement is also pretty good, although a bit sparse, but still nicely devided across the level. One bug though, is that the fastfires in the bonus warp don’t regenerate. Fix that, Martin..
Well, to sum it up, Fright Night CTF is a MuSt DoWnLoAd for all (TSF owning) CTF fans out there. Martin is, in my opinion, surely one of the top 20 level designers in jazz2 history! Only one other bug, the next level seing is frightnight.j2l, while it should have been fright night ctf.j2l. [This review has been edited by >CelL<]
Yeah, yet another great level by Martin!(I think I am fan of him! ;P)
The level is just great! It’s huge, many ways to go from base to base. The coins are well speaded over the level. The bonus warp reward: A full heal carrot and some fast fires. Very good gameplay, it realy doesn’t get boring, you can just do each time another way. The bad point is that the ammo placement is a bit… euh… spreaded. On some parts you can’t get very well to the ammo if you are Lori.
The eyecandy is just perfect, it’s difficult to build good eyecandy with this difficult tileset. To bad there isn’t a texured background, but okay, that doesn’t matter that much. Good generators, nice gameplay and stuff, you realy deserf a 8.7 almost a 9.
Please fix that next level setting, thank you.
Stop making TSF levels! =(
You write that the j2lc levels are jerky but you rate fright night ctf by martin(j2lc, you know?) with 9.7?
Something’s messed up here..
Really? I checked the memberslist and he’s not there.
And before you’re starting to talk about Shadow: He was Mystic Legends, and he still has the ML way of making them.
The problem I have with j2lc is that they got some names and friends (contacts) and often get overratings and I’m not the only one who thinks that way, as u heared splash also thinx so. No offence to the people, but to the way it happens.
