Privacy policy

The following is a dry but comprehensive overview of how we use your data on Jazz2Online. The overall principle is that we only use your data to make the site better, we don't share it with anyone, and you retain control over it.

Jazz2Online is hosted and administered under Dutch jurisdiction. As such, Dutch and EU laws apply. We aim to comply with the Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens (Personal Data Protection Act) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Your data

When you use Jazz2Online, we may collect the following personally identifiable information you passively share with us:

  • A register of actions you perform on the site, including submitting or editing content; changing your user settings and data; logging in to the site; or registering an account. Actions in this register are linked to your IP address and your user account and may contain (partial) form data submitted as part of the action.
  • The web browser you have most recently used to visit the site.

In addition to this data, we collect the following data you may actively share with us:

  • Your chosen user name and e-mail address.
  • An avatar image.
  • Personally identifiable information you share as part of content you publish on Jazz2Online, such as downloads, comments, or forum posts.
  • Any other information you elect to enter into your public profile page (much of this is optional and you don't need to provide it).

We collect this information with the following purposes:

  • To allow you to take part in discussions on the site and its forum.
  • To allow you to publish content on Jazz2Online, such as downloads.
  • To retain a register of who has created an account on the website.
  • To contact and inform those who have registered an account about our website and services.
  • To detect and prevent abuse of our services.

This data is never shared with any third party. We retain this data for as long as your Jazz2Online account exists. It will be deleted or anonymized if your account is deleted.

You have the right to see what data we collect about you. Most of this can be seen on or via your user profile page. If there is any other personally identifiable data you wish to inspect, you can issue a request via an e-mail to stijn@jazz2online.com. Please clearly state what data you wish to see.

You also have the right to request erasure of personally identifiable data. If you wish to do so, you can request this via an e-mail to stijn@jazz2online.com. In principle, we will erase or anonymize as much of your account data as possible. Some content (such as forum posts or downloads) may not be deleted, but it will be de-linked from your account. If this is the case, we will provide a clear overview of what data has not been fully deleted.

Such requests must clearly state the nature of the request. We may require you to prove that you are the owner of the account in question, for example by logging in to Jazz2Online. We will respond to requests as described above within 4 weeks after you have sent us all information required to fulfill these requests.

Only if we are required to do so by law we may share your data with third parties or retain data after you have requested deletion.
