This is a Jazz Jackrabbit 2 clan tournament. I know you all might say it's gonna be failed or something, but since I made clearly rules, schedule and planning, this might work. I have a lot of experience with making this kind of tournaments, don't worry then.

Only 8 clans can participate, hurry up then and sign up your clan! The deadline will be in 1st October. At least one member from each one of the clans who registered this tournament will have to join #JJ2.WC at IRC in 5th October and we will make a live lottery and match list there.

R3ptile, How come your site is "recommeded" if there's nothing but the layout and two newsposts? :P

I recommend that you do write out a complete set of rules for the tournament. Right now it is completely too vague and has no time frame. You should take a piece of your own advice in the "Why do tournaments always fail" thread and write out a good description of rules.

I suppose I have a list of questions that I would want to be answered too:


1. What is the time rough frame for this tournament? When do you want to start, how often do you want clans to play each other?
2. For each match, how many levels are played and to what point do you play?
2a. How are the maps agreed upon? If teams cannot agree on a specific map, then what?
3. Who are the referees and what is their purpose?
3a. (Other people will ask this) Do you need more referees and what should someone do who is interested?
4. How do you plan on keeping teams in communication with one another and making it possible to arrange dates/times to play?
4a. What happens when a team does not show up for a scheduled time?
4b. What happens when one or two players are missing?
4c. What happens when a player disconnects or has to leave midgame?
5. How do teams work, is each clan a specific team or would a clan be able to have multiple teams? For example could clan ABC have an “A” team with Alice, Bob, and Cathy as well as a B team with Suzy, Joe, and Sally? Would they be allowed to interchange teams?
5b. Can you have more than 3 members for a team meaning others can serve as backup incase people do not show up?
6. Who hosts the matches? Is a person playing allowed to host?
7. Why are there two open slots for spectators?
8. What happens in the case of people dieing on the flag and scoring a point after this bug is exploited – either on purpose or by accident?
9. How early are people expected to show up before the schedule start time?
10. What happens when communication with one team cannot be made?
10a. What happens when communication between both teams scheduled to play each other does not take place?

I’m sure that I have missed a few important topics and that other people have questions as well.

I firmly believe that if you prepare for all possible problems beforehand you increase the chances of a tournament actually succeeding.

To be brief about it(cuz i really posted a long post on this subject), I as a gpwer say no, but I count for naught, cuz I wouldnt be in the team anyway, lest we played bbswing or jungles edge... which is unlikely...but u can be sure chavrash and sj are for it, pyro would play if we asked him and had he the time, well NS as well, but they arent exactly eager about stuff like this. Uhm anyway, couldnt someone just form a clan for this thing?

Uhm well reptile thats just what I have 2 say, but i do agree a meeting should take within the active gpw active jj2 team if we're in or not...but that will take ages 2 organize, cuz i dont have msn. I have enough time though, cuz chavrash aint comming till near end september.
