Speedrun?
Has anyone ever attempted a speedrun for the Jazz games? Jazz 2 (except SF, of course) should be relatively easy to do, and it would be an interesting question whether you'd save more time with Spaz's specials or Jazz's powered-up blaster.

Jazz does not have a powered up blaster. Your blaster will always do one damage until you get the blaster powerup, which can only be found in the first Diamondus level.

46 minutes? Boy, seems like even less than the Metroid GBA games.

Err, Robyrt. I think Spaz can reach the powerupped blaster just as well as Jazz can.
To make things clear, both the characters have two special moves: Jazz: Helicopter ears, Uppercut Spaz: Double jump, Karate kick I agree with you though. I don't think either that Jazz stands a chance. Anyone up for doing a Jazz speedrun? It doesn't have to be perfect, I died about four times in mine. |

There should be a program that puts a timer in the game.
Or I can just use a stopwatch. =P

I seem to recall Jazz does have a built in timer, but it's not used for anything.
And of course either character can get the blaster powerup! Either use the frozen spring or drop down the pit, if I remember correctly. |

I tried doing a variation of the Speedrun, a Scorerun, by trying to get as many points in as little time as possible. I used Blade's "The Episode" for this, but I got flustered and gave up. =P Maybe we can do Speedruns of custom levels, too.

I just did a run of TSF, and clocked in 21 min 13.80 seconds. Disappointing, if you ask me. =P

Something around 45 minutes for TSF and JJ2 on hard, but the score was terribly low

OK, guys. Who's gonna do a speedrun for Tomb Rabbit?
![]() EDIT: I made a speedrun for 1.23 using Jazz. I played from 12:45 to 13:30 = 45 minutes - 3 minutes phoning = 42 minutes. "Speedrun diary" will probably come soon. ![]()

I estimate my fastest speed run for Tomb Rabbit to be between 2 - 2.30 hours.

Yeah, my bad. Spaz can backtrack to Jazz's part of the level and grab the blaster powerup (although if he doesn't have flame ammo, it might cost him more time than it saves). Did those of you who actually completed speedruns do this? My time is around 45 minutes at the moment for JJ2 Spaz hard - on medium, I keep crashing because I enter the first boss with sugar rush and shield on.

You crash? That's weird. I know the sugar rush just turns off...

I didn't do a speedrun with Spaz so far, but I would say it costs more time than it actually gives him.
A question, in the second diamondus level, did you grab the fire shield? I didn't, because I had already lost too much time in the previous level.
