That's another reason why you should take care of your cds. I bought it close to the release date I think, and it still functions fully and normally.
1. Use CD cases. 2. Be careful when, for example, putting a CD into the disc drive instead of just slamming them in. Follow these rules and you'll be fine. ![]()

You could try burning all the data on a CD, but I guess that needs some knowledge to be done correctly.

I "slam" my discs in and they're fine. It probably has to do with how hard you "slam" it.

I know people who have lost CDs due to faulty CD drives. There is a reason why drives above 52x are rare - that's pretty near the point where the media disintegrates.

Actually there was a case where a 60-something x CD-ROM drive melted a disk.
