Okay guys, listen up. I've got a great new idea how to keep JJ2 going until we have the source code: we make a Jazz 2 expansion pack. We change the opening screen(the one that shows the title of the game, either JJ2 or JJ2:SF and says press fire to start!)and get someone who knows how to make new episodes, not just something to go in the Home Cooked section. I know the guy who created the Hocus Pocus level pack did it, so we could get him. Then, we get some skilled level designers to create new tilesets and loads of levels! I know it wouldn't be revolutionary. Sure, there would be no new baddies or weapons but it would be a great stopgap before we get the source code!

You are forgetting the endless amount of bugs that are in the way.
Plus, I'm currently helping the 1.25 council in converting ASM to C++ code, which can be recompiled later.

Blobby: Aside from details like the opening "press fire" screen, most of this is what the community has been doing since 1998. If you want to expand your JJ2, go to J2O, sort by average rating, and download lots of stuff. If someone is going to make a big giant pack with new tilesets and whatnot, they'll make it, but you won't get many results asking people to make one for you. |

If you wanted to add Lori you can just get the anims.j2a file from TSF and replace the 1.23 demos with some TSF ones. pinkfurby@hotmail.com - I'd be willing to help.

I have something even more rux for a big project '06: a working high-res mod for JJ2. We'll see whether or not it gets released, I guess.

JJ2 Big Expansion Pack, huh?
Sounds great, but very very very difficult... And how many lines has the source code got? I can't imagine how long the source code must be! And if you got one tiny bug in there...ugly!

Oh that sounds great, maybe all the best level makers can do it.
No joke i think all the best level makers should do it so then it would be like a new game of jazz2.

I think it would fail like many other group projects, unless the people who want to start it contribute a lot of quality levels.

*hides under blanky but is stared at*
Uhhh... nothing interesting here. Oh well. I thought of some level so that people would fiNINEally stop saying I suck at everything JJ2 related. Not my fault Jerry made my crucial 6 months horrible. Oh yes, the first 6 months is very crucial, it's where you start and the basis of how you're treated. You have to show that you're useful otherwise you're deemed "newb" and/or "n00b". I thought RR would help me in this but it did not. Jerry lies - there are no trainings. I'll discuss this more in another thread.
