My last topic relating to hacking was quickly closed because the moderators claimed there were other topics on it. (It seems strange that the only one I could see was the hacking reports, and that's closed to idle chat). I will not be mad if this also gets closed, I just want to make a point.

We have all seen UF waging war on the jj2 players, it seems, mainly because of Nimrod. as in this quote from a packet crash posted on the hacking forum:

He teamed up with many other idiots to destroy JJ2...Allow me to contribute to the mess they're making.....And while you're at it, sniffing away at these packets, why don't you grow up? Why UF hates Nimrod is beyond me. But it's obvious he likes jj2 for his own sadistic purposes.

He does not realize, in the above quote, that he is pointing a finger at himself (My pastor said once:"Point a finger at someone, and four are pointing back at you.") He claims that we are immature for "Keeping a game for 4-year olds alive" but why is he obsessing over crashing the games then? Crashing a game you claim is full of idiots put you in the same boat as them.

Ask anyone why they play the game casually, and they will tell you that it's the community. When they started, it was for the game, but it also provided a portal for friends. the game in general provided a graphical interface. Sure your character was a rabbit, but that rabbit was a person that provided feedback to your comments! would you change that? No!

Your next argument would probably be "Use email, or IM". No. The casual player is looking for basic entertainment. that's the other part of the game. You don't get that with IM or email. As I had mentioned, the game provides a bit of a communication tool and a entertainment system all in one. You see this kind of activity in Unreal, CS, HL, and all the other multiplayer games out there.

UF claimed he wanted to start a list server and started a topic blasting Nimrod and the other for"Abusing power". When I said that I would be afraid of HIM abusing power, he made some incoherent rambling that I still don't understand, and basically ignored my comments.

His argument that we are all immature was so simular to ThaSpaz's flaming that I somtimes wonder if (ThaSpaz = UF)

I thank Nimrod and the others for trying their best to counter this threat. Keep up the good work, and remember this UF:

If a area gets leveled, life regenerates soon after. When the origional jazz list servers got closed, there was only a short delay before there were other list servers set up. Even if you succeed in eliminating all the multiplayer activity for jazz 2, just watch.

A game of 4 year olds? JJ2 requires too much coordination and strategy to be played properly by a 4 year old.

Which he doesn't. He deliberately crashes servers for the sake of destruction, without consent of the hoster beforehand.

UF is the type of INTERNET user who feeds on attention. Stop giving it to him. He is just a troll.

I would hope sooner or later he would grow weary of crashing servers because no one seems to care about it. If he sees he is making an impact and people are talking about him, it will only encourage him. As cliche as it sounds, he's simply a terrorist, trying to influence powers higher than him by making everyone suffer. Pathetic, really, and especially so because he is spending his time doing something he tells everyone is not worth their time.

Bottom line, ignore the child.

Please start posting constructive messages instead of posts that just do nothing but reiterate the same opinion. If I'm not going to see these messages, I'll close this thread. We've seen these kind of replies a thousand times before.

You own a copy of the game? do you not? THAT's the ownership of the game. You are using a copy of JJ2 to crash other JJ2 servers. That puts you into the same boat!

AND NOW, A REPLY TO UF'S POST IN THE HACKING REPORTS!

Unreal and Unreal Tournament have internally-managed servers, meaning that the servers on the master server list are owned and maintained by the people running the servers. Jazz 2 was once like this, but when the new server lists came into place, the new communists list server owners got the stupid idea that the stuff on the lists was theirs.

Of course jj2 servers are internally managed. The GAME servers are.

List servers provided a convienent way to find games. MSN zone works in the same way. without them, you would have to find the games with ip addresses (NOT fun). Without them, we would not link up. I think you got a few screws loose in your reasoning.

As for crashing, it doesn't affect the server lists in any way, besides occasionally leaving a pinging server. What it does affect is the server providing the game, which will usually collapse if not correctly protected. The game goes down, and the list server is not affected. As I've pointed out before, the games have nothing to do with the list servers and are therefore the responsibility of the individuals maintaining and hosting the servers, not some (guy) in England.

Trouble is, Nimrod IS the one looking after the servers. See above observation.

And why are you wondering why I started crashing? Well, just read the paragraphs above. I don't believe that a game should be run by a bunch of (people) who think the world is theirs and that they own everything.

You constantly put on a image that you are a freedom fighter freeing us from "The evil listservers" The listserver admins (Nimrod and Monolith) Clearly want us to have a fun time with the game. They are NOT oppressive, they only home in on you when you crash servers and ruin everyone's fun. I think you are as Spaztic called you: "an internet terrorist"

Orbitz crashed A LOT more back in the day, plus all three are related because UF gave hacking programs to both (according to various sources).

Working together Orbitz and TS rarely crashed much.
Orbitz was a heavy laser-crasher and TS a chathacker AFAIK.

Your post is incredibly wrong still. How about you just not try to give us information that's going to be wrong in every incarnation. Orbitz used ASD way more than laser crashing, and crashed probably more than UF has.

Here's what made me wonder. UF and ThaSpaz disapeared from the jj2 forums at the same time. before TS disapeared, he was flaming with this "You are all immature" stuff. That made me wonder if they were related.

But toss that aside. What REALLY matters is UF gave ThaSpaz and Orbitz the programs to crash games. that automatically put all THREE into the same lump (Labeled "HaXoRs and generally hated scum")

UF said they were both gits because he was trying to keep that halo of innocence so he could try and "Create a listserver". But by now, everyone knew how dirty he was, and did not belive him. (At least I did not)

NooB is right. Give someone a weapon to commit a crime, and that automatically makes you a accomplice. Not only did UF give the crashing tools to crash servers, he was using them too.

They will not stop doing this, and the more you mention their names, the more they will continue. Please, really stop. Both of them (all of them? They are really all the same personality at base) are uncreative attention-seekers. Please, listen to what people are saying and stop encouraging them. Even negative attention will do so, because they evidently didn't get enough recognition from their mothers when they were younger (or something).

Just ignore them and, if they are even somewhat bright, they will very soon realise that they are wasting their youths.
