Weird Backhoe

yes, I found this on another forum

Russian backhoe, edited to have four 'hoes instead of one. Dad say it probably works better than the wheeled variant!

Actually, I can run over his spider any day.

And Fquist; how are you actually planning on moving that miner? It needs a support crew of 128 people just to run. Imma drive up behind it and sever its fuel lines.

...so, is this backhoe real? It doesn't look too functional, more like an easter egg enemy from some sci-fi game.

The forum Puffy linked to says it's a render. Which, if you study it hard enough, is quite believable.

On a road. I think in the hands of a skilled pilot it could handle something like a canyon very well.

You are absolutly correct. While the four-legged backhoe might be a edited picture, there are in fact "Walking Excavators" that are used to manuver difficult terrain. (They are fairly common in europe, but not around here)

They have wheels on one end and use the stabilizers on the front of the excavator to "Walk" along. All four legs are independantly operated to help level the machine out

This page describes them nicely

Those machines are used in Finland too, but those have six legs and an arm to cut down trees. Pretty unusual that America doesn't have "spiderhoes"...

My truck is a real picture, it owns t3h renders.

The biggest machines we have in my country are for mining coal; they're like, 20-40 tons max, but we have the advantage that you'd actually have to *ship* your machines over here first.
