Server Stays
I don't find much unusual here. I have a wired router linksys with the right ports (10052-10054) forwarded and never had an issue with windows firewall or armor2net which are my two firewalls. I just tell it to allow the application to pass and everything's fine. But how come when I close down a server it stays pinging on the server list? It'll stay there days sometimes and it's just kind of weird. Nothing special I just manually closed down Jazz Jackrabbit 2, but yet the server still stays there!
Any suggestions. Here's an example. I came back to my computer after dinner and nobody was in my server at the time (although sallog clearly showed there was a huge party of players playing for about 30 minutes until everyone started leaving). I pressed esc after hosting and went to new game to see what other servers were up. There was nothing except the battle server and my pinging server. WHY??? ![]() Some help on this issue would be appreciated. EDIT: Instagib was my server, I was hosting instagib for a while there. But why is it still listed even after I hit new game (which should send a delist packet)

Also I would like to add that when I went to the GIP script, the server is stating that there's two players in it. How can this be?

this was just an example. Usually my server name is www.jj2stuff.tk and when I host using that server name and I quit, that server usually stays there too. I don't understand. I don't see why anybody else would wanna host with that name so it's obvious there's something wrong here. Also i'm using 1.23+

Then, try it with normal 1.23

I like 1.23+. It has all the features of Blubberfish/Forest Server Tool/Neo AC and more all in one easy exe file and not 30 different programs. And I've had this issues before with regular 1.23 too.

He already made clear that it's most likely not someone else hosting. Checking the IPs would prove, though.

Gry: Why would somebody want to host a server with MY website as the server name? I mean even J2o doesn't have any servers called www.jazz2online.com. So is my website more popular than j2o? I think not! So why in anybody's right mind would they want to host with my website as a servername at that exact same time I close my server? And the game's always non-stop pinging.

It could just be stale information in the listserver. I'm assuming that JJ2 sends some sort of "no longer hosting" message - if that gets eaten by a trigger-happy firewall or similar, then you'll end up with a pinging server.

Well I pretty much figured it out. Now how to fix it? I forwarded all my ports, and Windows Firewall and Armor2Net Personal Firewall both have the ports opened and the application pass. So what's blocking it???

I'm very sorry for posting out of context, but I need to make a new thread concerning an important issue. I apologise to the admins/mods.
