  • Is the filename you input in JCS exactly the filename of the actual music file?
  • Are you including ".mp3" at the end?
  • Are you sure you're running the plusified JJ2 and not a backup copy?
  • Is Music on?

To elaborate on this point: when you run a level from JCS.exe (as in, by using "save and run") you it will always launch Jazz2.exe. Therefore, if your copy of JJ2+ is called Jazz2+.exe, JCS will not run it.

If so, just rename the JJ2+ exe to "Jazz2.exe" and backup the original. That way, JCS will always launch JJ2+. There's no harm doing this, and in fact, you probably won't ever want to run the unpatched JJ2 anyway.

The game would crash if he's not using JJ2+, I believe, so it's not that.

It doesn't, if the level is run from JCS. I don't know why.

Also, make sure the music file is actually in the Jazz2 directory in the first place.

Oh, didn't know this, thanks, even though I doubt it can ever appear useful for me.

That shouldn't be happening. Did you make it so that Jazz2.exe is your JJ2+ exe?

If the game can't find the music file, it won't crash. Your JCS is probably running a Jazz2.exe that's in the wrong directory.

Now when I think of it, it might've been that. I edit files in the 1.23 JCS and save them on 1.24 folder.

For future reference, if needed, make sure the music file is located in the same folder as the Jazz2(+).exe you're running.

Jazz2+ can play:
.MP1/MP2/MP3
.OGG
.WAV
.AIFF
.J2B
.XM
.IT
.S3M
.MOD

and any more I might've forgotten.
