The Anniversary Bash (commonly abbreviated to AB or just the Bash) is an annual event celebrating the initial shareware release of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (April 9th, 1998). A dedicated server with a customised levellist is hosted for the duration of the nearest weekend to this date; normally for 4 days straight.


Q: Why should I come?

JJ2 is fun! Especially in a big server with many players simultaneously chatting and playing. The bash is the best time to enjoy this experience, with people new and old coming together to one big melting pot of multiplayer madness.

Q: What do I need to do?

Get Jazz Jackrabbit 2 here, and install the JJ2+ patch. The server will be open to everybody (up to 32 clients) - join and hang around for as long as you like!

Q: What's going to happen during the event?

The bash is most often divided into two gamemodes: Battle (free for all) and CTF. Both gamemodes will have their own special, all-star level list, created specifically for the 26th anniversary.

Normally, the gamemodes and their respective levellists are swapped on alternate days - this year we might do something a little different.

Q: Who's organising all this?

Organising the bash falls upon the Jazz2Online staff, with several volunteers helping out with ideas and feedback. The dedicated server will be hosted by DanZeal, provider of the Zeal server network.
