I have Windows 98, and sometimes my computer won't play sound for certain programs. I have run DXDIAG and it tells me that there's a generic failure with creating sound on my sound card. My driver is MSSNDSYS.VXD. What do I do?

Format and re-install

You might want to reload yous sound drivers (if you have the specific ones for your sound card). You might also want to try to reinstall DirectX..

You might also want to buy a new sound card. ;P

You shouldn't need one anyway, anyone with any respectable music needs would be listening to the radio anyway. ;P

I'll try to help. You might try unistalling your sound card driver and reinstall it. Or your driver may be to old.

First of all before you do anything.

- Know youre soundcart

- Then go to the webpage of the builder

- Download the latetest drivers

- Remove youre old drivers

- Reinstall and reboot

IF it doesn't work then email youre builder.
