But where can you get nice JJ2 (game) music? That's a big question for everyone who will have orginal level for his/her level/tileset. acid already ask this, but there where not so much answers.
So please, who can found a nice music site (with only "endless" music, so no www.modarchive.com...)

Best of course is always to make it yourself. But that's easy for me to say, being a tracker. And since I don't have time to make everybody a custom tune...

Check out e.g. United Trackers at http://www.united-trackers.org/ where you can search their music database. Just search for style "game" or "demo" and you'll find a bunch.

Another place is World of Game mods at http://www.mirsoft.info/gamemods.php. Though I'm not such a fan of using other games' music.

Chiptunes are nice as well, find them at e.g. http://www.chiptune.com/. However, the Galaxy sound engine (used in JJ2) SUCKS at playing chiptunes properly. >_<

I posted the same topic. www.modplug.com has some, but most are broken links, and the songs aren't rated. Why did TiS close? It was an amazing site. They could at least leave up an archive and not update!

Hey Haze! Do you know a good tracker? I know there are better trackers that ModPlug tracker available but I don't know which and where. Got a list of any good ones (which are better that modplug tracker of course)?

I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IITTTT!!!!!

Just so you know why it sucks, .it format doesnt work, if it does the quality is total junk, .xm sucks too, a bit better if you remove the instruments or whatever its called that the galaxy engine cant read
.mod works fine though, but all the l33t guys like radix/beek use .xm and .it

Anyways, Back to the Roots, http://www.back2roots.org is a nice one too. I'll kill myelf for saying this later on cuz now I wotn have any original mods left, I STILL HAVE ANOTHER UP MY SLEEVE THOUGH!!! MWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Depends on your system. Let's get a rundown of the most popular trackers out there that we can use for making custom music (to be played in JJ2):

DOS:
- FastTracker, always been popular, GUI orientated and suitable for the beginner.
- Impulse Tracker, another fave pic, though getting to know the interface can be a pain.

Windows:
- ModPlug tracker, not many GOOD windows trackers out there. ModPlug is the most favored one.

*nix:
- CheeseTracker, could say it's the Impulse Tracker for *nix systems. Updates have again started.

Some general notes on the Galaxy Sound System:
- do NOT use instruments in your tracks. Stick to using samples only. GSS lacks support for some major instrument-functions.
- do NOT use more than 32 channels. GSS support up to 32 in total, though this brings down the overal performance. Using up to 16 channels is recommended.
- do NOT make your tracks too big e.g. by using huge samples. JJ2 uses a limited amount of memory where everything has to fit in (animations, level, tileset, music etc.)

That should do it. Happy custom-music-making!

I have Windows. ModPlug tracker? Bleh! I know that people like Alex Brandon don't use just ModPlug tracker to make such cool music. What do they use? They must have some sord of a professional software.
