Does anyone know if there is a version of Jazz2 that runs on Linux/FreeBSD (Gnome desktop environment)? Is there a way to patch or hack it to work in Gnome?

Heya haven't seen you for a while Bio!
![]() Anyway, there is a Win32 emulator (they like to call it a windows compatible layer) for Linux. I think you can get it at http://www.winehq.com. There are also a lot of new Linux distro's which support a ton of Windows programs (Xandros, Lindows, etc). Oh yes, you might need another debugger than the one which comes with the standard install. I'd ask around at the site for those. JCS does run with the standard debugger though. |

Hiya Bio,
As mentioned your only option is an emulator, but reports have been around that it runs Jazz fairly well. So far there is no and there never has been a native *nix-version of Jazz. We, the council, could give it a look once we get our hands on the source-code. But I doubt there'll ever be a conversion (from what I've heard Jazz2 is heavily Win-code based. E.g. for the Mac version they had to build a new engine from scratch).

All righty, then. I might try that.
Yeah, it's been a while since I've been here, but I do pop in every once in a while just to check up on things. Btw- I'm still working on the BioCorridor tileset (don't know when to expect it finished, but I will send it to the downloads section, here at J2O. If you have the old beta version of the tileset, you ain't seen nothing yet!
