Where can I get Mac downloads?
I have the Mac version of JJ2 and I was wondering where I can download updates or maps. I have looked in several places. One of the reasons I want it is that I have the V.1.40 and the Capture The Flag does not work. If a player grabs a flag they wont ever lose it for some reason. Even if I kill them it always just apppears right back on the player. So the only way to advance to another level is to have only one player be able to get the flags. So I would like to know a site where I can get updates or even extra maps.

First of all, welcome to the community!
![]() What you are looking for is probably Jazz 2 patches. Try download sites like CNET Download for these. This belongs in Tech Help.

I think our PC maps also work in your Jazz2.
http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads You'll have to find a way to unzip them though. |

CTF does not work in splitscreen, unfortunately.

Why do you have a Mac anyway? ;p
You cannot use Capture the Flag in splitscreen, like Unkown said. If you aren't doing splitscreen, I don't know. There is probably a WinZip for Macs. I assume that Windows levels work on a Mac. About the patch for online games, I do not know how that would work. I don't think Macintoshes have Regedit.

CTF doesnt work split screen, i have tried it, and whenver i get the flag, i can only loose it by getting a point. If both players in split screen have the flag, they are unable to loose it. This doesnt need a patch, or an upgrade. It just doesnt work.

Hmm... there could be a way to make it work, using 4 bases and triggers. Maybe Evil Mike will make it =P.

I'm not quite sure what the Mac JJ2 can or can't do, but in either case, put all files from level downloads into the folder you keep JJ2 in. If your JJ2 has a Home Cooked Levels folder, Roller Coaster Race should appear in there. Otherwise, experiment.
As for CTF, it only works in Network or Internet play, so you have to play with people on other computers. |

Unknown Rabbit is right. I think the folder is named "Cache" on Mac, as well. Copy all files out of them and paste them into your normal folder.

Updates to the MAC version can e.g. be found here. And as far as I have understood from other MacJazzers you have to stash the levels in your "Data"-folder. As said you should then be able to access them from the "Home Cooked Levels" episode.
If you'd like to try and let us know what exactly works. ![]() And as said CTF doesn't work properly on local splitscreen games. (Thus being strangely compatible with the bug in the PC version....)

Actually I know the most about the mac version then nay of you because I use to use it (have the PC version now). PC levels work fine, but you have to put them in the folder called data (not staright into the Jazz2 folder.

I use the mac version of JJ2 on saturdays (sometimes).
I really dislike it, and it is really slow. (and buggy) It took me like 5 minutes to download DW. I would suggest you get a PC. ;-P -PC's are better for multitasking. - On the MacJJ2 you cannot change windows without exiting the program. -You can get a 1.2GHz computer for $400 or less. I would keep a mac only if I had some video editing to do. Otherwise, maybe you can sell it for a few dollars. ;P I hope to get rid of the mac soon. [The macPOS system at the market is trash anyway ;-P] |
