Because money makes the world go round. And Unreal means hard cash.

Not enough ppl bought JJ2 or JJ1 despite the great reviews both game received, so Epic's eye(s) are set on Unreal.

This is not quite true. Several attempts have been made for a new Jazz game, and each time (AFAIK) Epic has cooperated. Its the other companies that get in the way.

OK, can someone give the link to the JJ3 FAQ (if it's still there) and close this already? Because this topic is useless now. ![]() - JelZe GoldRabbit =:3 |

Even if a third Jazz Jackrabbit game were to come out on the market, I can guarantee that most of us would just get a cracked version of the game, play it, and then burn it into the ground.

I don't think they will do the same for JJ3 like they did ti JJ2, I think they will make the disc un-burnable and the CD is always requested, well, JJ2 didn't sold really much, because it isn't popular, you just have to install and let your friends do the same and done, you don't need the CD anymore!

Safe Disc 2 anti-piracy technology
Contained on a DVD disc Use a method similar to Battle.net where a valid CD-Key is required to play online. There are many ways to lock it down so the warez0rs won't have much fun with it.

it's the same with a lot of companies they have a good sidescroller but later discover that they have more of a succes with a 3d game and then stop with the sidescroller(examples:id with commander keen becouse quake sold better and epicmegagames with jazz jackrabbit becouse unreal sold better.(i'm a fan of both tose sidescrollers))

Konami made a Contra game on PS2 lately. It's a 3D sidescroller, like Duke Nukem Manhattan Project. Epic could do at least something like that.

It's a shame Epic has totally abandoned everything but Unreal. Besides Jazz, Epic has a lot of franchises worthy of a sequel: Xargon and Tyrian, to name a couple.

rofl, Xargon.
That's funny. I played Xargon 1 & 2 a little, but I never opened Xargon 3 because I was disgusted with the first two. :P

By the way, I just read that Epic is looking for a new publisher, because Atari is nearing to bankrupt.
