XP related problems?

I was playing Jazz 2 the other day and was bumped out of the program with an "out of memory error"...which is odd beceause I have 768MB of RAM, I patched to 1.23 (had just installed the game after a long hiatus) and haven't had that problem, but I have noticed a few pecularities, such as getting over 100 of the flame weapon...113 to be exact at one point, now I haven't been able to duplicate that little bug again, but I was wondering if it is related to Windows XP or DirectX or both or neither...I have also noticed occasional bouts of extreme sound lag and cracking.

My specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon XP 2600+
GeForce FX 5200 128MB with latest drivers
onboard Nvidia NForce 2 3D sound and Ethernet (also onboard GF4 MX - disabled)
768MB PC2700 SDRAM
5200 RPM 120GB Seagate drive
Windows XP Service Pack 1
Direct X 9.0

I am not running the program in compatibility mode, but in my experience this usually makes very little difference. Also, my comp is clean of spyware and viruses.

Jazz2 is just buggy. You can get more than 100 ammo of something by shooting a powerup monitor if I'm correct.

Um, no. JJ2's memory was filled up, not the RAM.

in my experience "out of memory" usually means the program has run out of system memory to load new modules in, I would think that if there was a strict memory allocation size for Jazz 2 they would have been more conservative. with event placement.

Everything is just different when it concerns Jazz

Really, it has nothing to do with your RAM.
