No time estimate can be given for the release of the JJ2 1.25 patch due to the fact that it is not being worked on right now, to the best of our knowledge.

Unfortunately, Stiletto is correct.

The chances that a 1.25 patch will be released are pretty slim. After all, Epic's blocking the 1.2x line out with 1.24 is kind of an indication that there will be no 1.25 and, at best, it will just be a tiny update of 1.24, which no one really cares for anyway.

Uh, how did you make THAT up? These are just assumptions, I mean, who told you 1.25 will be a small patch for TSF?

1.25 will be worked on when we get the source code, there's a good possibility we will get it once Lost Boys Games hasn't given out licenses for a while. Once the source code stops being lucrative for them they can give it out to us. Then we can work on it and put in as much as we want.

Well, that was kind of straying a bit from my main point, which was that Epic will almost definitely not make a true 1.25 patch. The community, of course, will make a patch once some capable Jazz 2 programmers can get their hands on the source code, which Epic seems to still have a prayer might be worth something. It will be interesting, assuming we get the source code, to see what the community will do with it. I shouldn't have ruled out the possiblity that the community could make an edit. It was obviously not something I was thinking about when I made that post.

Of course Epic is never going to release a patch, they don't program anything, they just market it =P And Arjan is sick of Jazz as far as I know (which isn't far so don't take this as shibby), so only a community-made patch is possible, we just need the source code and a reliable team of programmers.

I seriously dobut that it would take 2 years to edit the source code to make a 1.25 patch.

The real problem is waiting until Epic finds that the Jazz 2 source code is no longer such a "hot commodity" and releases it, which there is a possibility may not happen. J2HG would not take 2 years. More like 2 months for a "good enough" edit and then further continous edit projects would be more likely. Of course, that's just my thinking on what will likely happen.

Apparently, I have. I didn't even know it existed, but it was likely founded while I was inactive.

What is it about? I remember hearing a bit about it, but I never fully understood what it was. It sounds interesting.

You're all talking about Epic. But as far as I know, the characters where copyrighted by Epic. And not the engine. The engine was copyrighted by Lost Boys games.

They have promised the source code. But there still are two problems, one, Epic obviously still has "something" to do with the engine since Lost Boys will send laywers to them as told in an earlier newspost on J2O.

The second reason is that Lost Boys still has a small project running using the JJ2 engine, which I can not tell the name of, since I do not know it. I know what it will be about and that's it. I think their contract with the company will expire at the end of this year. So who knows. Some good news next year?

Oh yes, I also heard that the code is so messy due to all changes that it's quite likely that it will be really tough to change.

The 1.25 council is a group of people that talks about the 1.25 patch and will probably make one together once the source is released. To get into the 1.25 council you either need to know programming or you must be very smart with jj2(hacking, for example)

Oh, bravo. You just revived a TWO YEAR OLD TOPIC.

LOOK AROUND! Is there yet a 1.25 patch? Have you yet seen anything stating about an actual 1.25? Have you been able to get the source code yourself?

There is a search button, right on top of the page. Use it. And look all around you. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO, AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL BE, A 1.25 PATCH!

*Points*

If this won't be done with our current knowledge of the game, then I don't know how much JJ2 will be improved with the source.

Soooooooo.......... Private Patch? Somebody actually patched Jazz 2! Oh wait, I did once...

But what about this: We delete all the Jazz 2 Episodes, make 6 new episodes, (With a new storyline,) remix a bunch of music, redo tilesets to make bigger and better, (Like fix the glitch for background things in carrotus,) archive all that, and call it 1.25!

Kinda stupid but it would work.

Is it possible to change the sprites of the anims.j2a? Because that should make possible to create a Jazz 2 mod.
By the way, are there somebody tried to contact here with the creators of the JJ2 engine? What did they answered, I've been never heared about things like that...

To Tazar:
A) As far as out programming goes: No, it is not possible. Do you see people with their "Razz and Eva Adventures:Two cousins, One adventure" or "Mario and Luigi in JJ2" Or "Batery Check 2" or "Devan Shell" or even "Mah teh recoulred jazz and spazz fan chracrz of quest"???? NO.
B)We have asked various people. And to not sound like an idiot, I'll let someone else tell you about it.

A ) Yes it's true, but if we can extract images from j2a file, I think that should be possible too, to add files for it. For example, the JJ2 Turtle should be replaced with a Super Mario turtle, etc. But well okay. it's not possible. But please somebody tell me why?
EDIT: Okay I've figured out while reading the j2a topic, forget about my question.

No. 10 other people have one not it. Sorry typo. But it is known that everything you think of has been thought of 10 other times at least on the same continent. I would say it is probably the same with doing things.
