Private message length is way too short
The 2000 character limit for private messages is rather contraining. Somebody asked me for JCS advice, which I gladly gave, but I had to split it in to 3 seperate messages since I decided to go into detail on a number of things. For me this worked out to about 2-3 paragraphs per message, which isn't a lot.
Is there any reason for having the limit set so low? And if not, why not increase it to the length a normal forum post is allowed to be (which is something like 40k characters)? |

It is possible to set this higher, indeed. I don't have much objections to increasing the limit a bit, but you have to keep in mind that it is close to impossible to check PM's for us and that malicious users could in theory abuse large PM's to fill the database with rubbish, lowering speed and database space left. I do not think this would be a big problem, though. If the other admins agree, I'd suggest increasing it to about 7500/10k characters (max character count for posts is 10k).

I have no objections to raising the limit.
