Can someone give me a helping hand...

I've just finished the BMP-image of my "desk" tileset, but after a month of trying, I still can't make a good tileset of it. And now I'll see if I can get some help 'round here

don't see this is a task, but can someone try to make this image suitable for a good working tileset?

(I know it's not a bmp, but that's what the hosting-site made of it...)

very very very much thanks if someone can help...

I must say this looks very good... Hey, what's the color depth? JCS can't handle images over 256 colors, since that's the bare minimum needed to run. Have you checked Disguise's Tileset Resource yet? Check the Compiling Section there, and you're good to go.

A few suggestions regarding the tiles:
  • I know there aren't many slanted tables, but you need some diagonal tiles other than thin sticks and rubbers (no, not condoms..."erasers"... ).
  • All your pencil rubbers and metal rings look identical. Use only one of each and save space for other tiles.
  • The same goes for your actual pencils. Use one colour each and get rid of the rest so there's some space for more useful tiles.
  • Some action tiles would be useful (they are for triggers, shooting, running through, etc...just look at any Epic tileset).
  • Now that you've taken my advice (right???) and got rid of all those superfluous tiles, you can add cool eyecandy stuff, like those thin flakes of wood you get when you screw your pencil, some background book shelves, papers lying on the desk, etc, etc. Most desks are messy. Take a look at your own for inspiration! (Er, or not ;p).
  • You've already got doodles of symbols in your tileset...add the whole alphabet!
  • Sometimes people build levels where the player must go left for the exit. Make an exit sign that points left!
  • That checkered paper background looks quite nice. It would be nicer if there were more of them, in different patterns and colours.

thanks everyone!

And white rabbit, I think those suggestions are quite helpfull.
Let's see if I can do something with it...

ps; I allready thought about woodflakes, but I didn't add them, because I couldn't make them But I'll try again...

Just one final question;

My JazzBlue isn't blue enough. It doesn't appear as a transparant tile. Only the left corner above is working fine. How can I fix this problem?
