"Shifting towards evil" type of tileset

Are there any tilesets that gradually turn more "mean looking"? As in they start off looking normal but then there are small changes in the landscape that make it look less friendly. I've got a decent idea for a single player pack but I need something like this before I can do anything with it. (and I can't make my own tileset, don't even ask)

I don't know of any tilesets like that but I remember an NES game, Monster Party, where in the first level it was all bright and happy with smiling trees but after you got past a certain point everything turned into skulls with blood pouring out of the eye sockets and stuff. Is that sort of what you're thinking of?

Kinda. Except it's not an instantaneous change. It's subtle. Like there's 4 stages: normal, slightly bad, mostly bad, bad.

Didn't think there'd be one, anyway.

Of course there can be such tilesets, only the tiles aren't arranged for you. You'll just have to use the tileset to make your level look like you want, which goes for virtually all kinds of tilesets.

Well what about a group of tilesets? It doesn't have to be one tileset.

After giving more form to my idea, I realised that I probably don't need such a tileset after all. Meh.
