Most likely you would have to spend only Saturday and Sunday Evening. This might become a One-Day Tournament possibly too, instead of One-Weekend. We shall see. As well, the players themselves get to create the mappool this time.

Sign-ups have been closed, since this tournament managed to grab the minimum amount of participaters exactly, which is 8. Caused by that, I devolve this into a One-Evening Tournament practically.
EDIT: Ok, so the next act is to create a mappool for the tournament. Attention all participaters, each of you are allowed to name one map you would like to see to be played in the tournament. That means there would be 8 nominations. Once I have got all of them, there will be a poll following, that only the players are allowed to vote too. There you have to read the instructions carefully before voting. Now, the players who signed up, can post/edit their own reply to nominate a map. Note that the nomination must be a reasonable one, and nominations that have an average worth below 7.0 aren't accepted. As well, since this is a CTF-tournament, only CTF-levels are accepted. P.S. Brackets are available fairly soon. Nominations so far:

You mean I should cancel it because he seems to have an advantage over others?
Anyway, this group is imo a really even one. You cannot know there will be no surprises for sure. Now the other players get a chance to reach Finals, since you and I are out. I would only be disappointed to this, if more than 1 match was forfeited. Now, here you go with your brackets that have just been randomed a moment ago. Players in the same brackets face each other at the opening-rounds. Bracket 1: St.Louis - Anubis Bracket 2: Sperry - Robee Bracket 3: R3ptile - Ana Bracket 4: Warrior - FawFul The winners of Brackets 1 & 2 face each other at the semi-finals. The winners of Brackets 3 & 4 face each other at the semi-finals. The losers of semi-finals face each other at the bronze-final. The winners of semi-finals face each other at the Grand Final. I suggest you to play all your games on Sunday, but if you feel like playing your first matches earlier, you can feel free to do so. HOWEVER, do not play any round before the final binding mappool is released(which should be on Friday.) All these deadlines below are for the Sunday 16/9. After all the rubbish earlier, I have to say Superjazz is doing a good job. Too bad not many people have signed up, unfortunately.
I think most players just rather play games for fun at random times, instead of a tournament with deadlines etc.

Oh well, see it as the Olympics:
It's not about winning, but about keeping the game alive and having fun ;P Edit: wow, it's a wonder, two posts in a row.. I guess this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Stijn ;P

As fun as random games are, they don't compare to a really good competitive game.

There's a slight chance that I can't play during the set timespan of the semi-final round this evening.

Well, you are late to be honest. However, if someone seemed to forfeit their match, I could put you as a replacement in the first place, but before that let's see who plays, and who doesn't.
St.Louis continued to the semi-finals so far. And as an example about the round-scores there, round 1 ended 5-1, and round 2 4-4. Just a reminder that if the game is tied after 15 minutes elapse, the game ends and it counts as a 0 for both. To continue, a player only needs to win the another round by then. If round-wins go 0-0 or 1-1, there will be a tiebreaker-round. The remaining map that neither player picked gets played there. The tiebreaker-round may not end as a tie, the first one to score after the time-limit for once wins the round, and continues to the next stage. From now on the rest of you have around 3 hours to finish your opening-round. I suggest starting to play them within 2 hours or so. I can extend the semi-final deadline to 19:30 GMT, to make sure people have enough time to make it as well. Good luck everyone! Sperry - Robee [0:0] R3ptile - Ana [0:0] Warrior - FawFul [0:0]

Semi-final opponents draw 23 min (53 min) late would be nice.
And I guess this means that I haven't been eliminated because of not making it up until now, today. |
