Tileset extractor question
I'm using The tileset extractor to edit a tileset. (actually to fix a bug in the set) Is there any way to compile the set again with the edited pictures, same pallet without having to re-do the pallet? When I edit it, switch it to a compilable format and compile it i get errors. Once this is answered, feel free to close the thread.

that could work. Just one think, how to I extract the pallet? once i know that I can do this easily.
also just to let you know, I'm just fixing the lamp in Cells Medivo conversion. If someone else could do that would be nice. If not just tell me how to extract the pallet.

The pallette's a characteristic of the image. You can open the pallette through palette suite or the palette merger feature of Tileset Pal, just by opening the image.

Ok I got it work. And after doing this, I was able to make my own pallet for the first time! plus I think I understand pallet swap animation. Thanks for the help!

Sorry for the double post, but is there a way to cut back on the colors in a pallet so I have room for a textured background? Right now the tileset only has 3 spaces left for colors.
I'm re-making my Fanolint set with a pallet, proper colors and animations and eyecandey. Is there any way to reduce some colors without reducing the quality?

Fanolint's a touch case, because it uses a huge number of colors for something so nearly monochrome. The best solution is to merge two separate-yet-similar colors together... also, I don't know too much about gradient size in Fanolint offhand, but it's often tempting to use the natural sky/waterfall colors in a JJ1 set and make the textured background out of that as much as possible.

The gradient isn't that big for the waterfall. Would you be willing to help? I got the pallet done, But I think some of the brown colors could be merged. Think you could help? You don't need to put in the pallet for the background, just make some room.
And yes, Fanolint has to many colors! I barley had enough room once I put in the Jazz 2 pallet.

I'd like to, but I really don't have the time. Sorry. Just merge stuff as seems appropriate, and make sure to use as many colors from the waterfall or background in the textured background as possible.

Ok thanks, I will try, by merging, you mean taking two colors values and adding them together?
BTW, can't wait for your next conversion! Hope it's as good as Chrysilis.

Well, not actually _adding_, but maybe some averaging, or maybe just some dropping of gradients altogether and replacing them with other gradients already in the palette.

Feb 20, 2009, 08:45 AM | |
ok thanks! I will see if I can do that.

Again sorry for double post. Now I'm having problems. Look:
Pallet: http://img12.imageshack.us/my.php?im...tpalletyj2.png As you can see, entrys for 176-207 are filled with color for a textured background. Jazz: http://img12.imageshack.us/my.php?image=jazz2picsf2.png As you can see, the colors are messed up. I loaded the pallet into the image and I got the correct color background. Right? Here's a picture of the background I'm using: http://img4.imageshack.us/my.php?ima...kgroundaq0.png What's going on? Did I put some wrong entries in? Also the tileset's empty just becuase I'm learning how to use pallets. In the actual tileset, the waterfall uses some colors from the textured background. Would that affect anything? EDIT: I made a new background and I got it working in 16 bit. How do I get it working in 8 bit?
