The Zeal server has now a better connection.

100/100Mbit with 5 IP's.
At start we will only be using 3 or 4 IP's.
ISP: T3
All local network wiring has been done with shielded CAT 6 cabels.

The amount of bandwidth gives us possibility to do so much more.
We start out with hosting four Zeal Duels servers.
Other new servers are Domination (dOmega) and some sort of hotel/test/minigames server (relaxer).
The relaxer is hosting Naopleons Hotel, but a new map is in progress.
A few more servers might be hosted.

A new service is that clans or players can, by being a sponsor, rent a private 24/7 server for a longer period for their own use.
How much this will cost will at start be discussed for each case.
But if there will be any interest in renting servers, the money will go to new JJ2 projects or to expand current ones.

Awesome news dan ! Question, how will the hotel be upgraded for people, you would need someone on it all the time to update it, unless of course its like you said just to "relax", if so it seems kinda pointless since people come to play JJ2 not just sit in a hotel.

But the idea is to have the focus on tests and minigames.

I actually like this idea.

Test levels can be pretty fun, but the ones usually hosted are made by incompetent people. A server with a bit of a serious effort could actually be interesting. A server with good test levels! Imagine that.

If you want, I could fix up a couple of my old test levels, to make them a bit more suitable to a server like this (for example, I should fix up the clutter problem in platform tests 1 and 2). I have 4 or 5 levels which are fairly complete.

Yes, that would be great. I talk for DZ now but these levels are real great tests and I'd love them to be added. The levels would have to be hosted as coop though

Two of my test levels require coop mode, yes. This is a fairly trivial problem though: you just host the level, type /gamemode coop, and then /r so it loads properly. The main issue with these levels is that the first test in them can get frustrating with lots of players, but I can solve that by simply editing the level (adding multiple copies of the first test would do the trick).

I have a few other tests, and they work in CTF. Parts of them could also be added to another level.

The server's hardware was upgraded 27/10.
CPU: AMD 64 dual core @3Ghz

We also noticed that running the servers windowed, lowers the ping with 5-15ms.

i think Zeal Beta needs more levels, but the rest of your servers are nice

Would be nice to have some more survivorish maps.
