Inspirations for graphics in JJ1 and the ones inspired by JJ1
Does anyone have any graphics of old games (or other stuff) that JJ1 could get inspiration from?
For me obviously Sonic was number 1: ![]() Grass somehow reminds me of that in Diamondus. Maybe this is actually not that sure, but look at the purple bricks, windows and colors of this tileset. Anything in mind? Like PEZROX ? ![]() Do you remember the place where mechanical balls (not spikey tho) were opening the same way as these in upper right corner? Orbitus? ![]() Golden tubes with circular windows, grey platforms, red bricks, some metallic grey blue... Industrius? By the way: ![]() I've seen this in Crysilis ![]() But it was a fine conversion by Violet CLM. Do you have any other stuff like this? And finally: does anyone know if anything was inspired by Jazz graphics? |

I will extend a topic a little bit to JJ2. Hell Freezes Over always reminded me of THIS - Skull Man's Stage from Mega Man 4

Broken links. I was eager to see them, but I can't. Are you using imgur? If so, did you provide the direct link?
I know Carrotus was copied from The Lion King level "Hakuna Matata", Labrat was copied by Earthworm Jim levels "New Junk City" and "For Pete's Sake" and the mountains in Purple Maze (psych) were copied by Rayman's orchestra world. How about the layer 8 images? More specifically the generator in Labrat, the nebula flows in Inferno and the giant critter in Damn. Were they also stolen from ... I mean ... inspired by other game pictures? And the fossils on Damn layer 6? |
